Yes, yes, it's true. I've taken a life with one of my swords.
I have a cat, a famed mouse hunter at that. He left me a gift in my workshop window well. He stared at me with proud eyes, and while I knew he was proud, I was more or less wondering what to do with it.
Having a sword near by (go figure) I reached out and 'stuck' it. I was rather enamored with the fact I actually got to use a sword for which it was intended for, finally, in a rodent terminating way ;D

Haha I read the topic on my iPhone and saw " my sword has killed, then I have a cat" is all I could see. So I opened up the topic with anticipation to see if this sword has taken the life of your dear old silvester to see just it was speedy that ended up on the wrong end of the sword..

So it was dead or still alive when the cat brought it to you?
Killing a mouse is hardly what a sword was intended for, that's a job for a club at best.

I am sure those from (P)eople (E)ating (T)asty (A)nimals will be trilled to hear about it. only if he ate the mouse, which I doubt; did you eat the mouse? sounds like a mercy killing to me, the mouse must have been hurt badly by the cat or it would have been running away. if the mouse had been dead his sword would not have killed. so how did you clean your sword after and was it effective or have you gained some rust?

The mouse was disarmed by the cat before he was brought before me. A loyal guard would never bring an enemy into the court armed! I disposed of the mouse into the moat to demonstrate to the other subjects what happens when you don't follow the rules. Wasn't much to clean, just a quick wipe. I haven't looked at the sword since, it was a cheap katana I purchased from TrueSwords years ago. It lay in my workshop collecting sawdust most of the time.

Hmmm...let's see...
I've killed mice with my foot (SQUISH!), a large wrench, a .22 rifle, a shovel, my lawn mower (THAT was messy! ;D), and even old-fashioned traps and poison (just put a box of D-con out today, in fact), but never a sword. Guess I'll have to try that one next...

I killed a severely injured wolf 2 years ago-it got hit by a highway snow plow during a big storm and was on the snowbank on the side of the highway-used a hatchet. It was quick.I've dispatched dogs,cats-a horse.I wont let an animal suffer and this highway takes its toll every year.

I'd've stuck the cat. But then, my wife has an excellent cat fried rice recipe. Nothing for mice.

I have had to do likewise a couple times... other times the animal was saveable and I did that instead. I can't stand to see animals suffer either. People, on the other hand...
