Hi Ninjastar, there are a lot more knowledgeable people than me on sharpening and polishing on this forum but to get you started: For the polishing, assuming you want a mirror polish, you need wet and dry paper (silicone carbide) in several grades from 600 grit up to 2000 grit. You would normally get this from a car paint supplier, sometimes from a DIY store if it is a good one. See this guide: www.arscives.com/bladesign/hybridpolish.htmOn a traditionally sharpened Katana the edge is formed during the polish so the sharpening technique depends on how authentic you wish to be. Somewhere around the forum is a thread on touching up the edge on a Katana without creating a secondary bevel (like a knife edge) but I can't remember where. Have a search around, good luck, Graham
