Had never heard of the comic myself, does anyone know this stuff? Yea, I've seen it---my brother showed me it as a bit of a "Haha, look, it's like we made this. And it's about a SWORD!" thing. It was kind of interesting. As I recall it concerned an ancient sword made my the gods that gave whoever was holding it amazing strength, healed all their wounds, gave them mighty power etc. but when they let go of it they were back to normal. The main character was wheelchair-bound, so when she discovered the sword she could walk again and leap over moving cars and stuff. Also, I have a memory of her stabbing a government MIB-type badguy in the roof of the mouth with this thing and it coming right out the back of his head. It was a 'graphic' novel, indeed. Not really outstanding artwork, and I didn't love the look of the sword, but it was kind of cool. Reminds me of that Kris cutlery blade that's out of production. At any rate, this is a very faithful representation of the sword from the comic. I like the look of the real one better than the drawings. Nicely done, BKS! Good to see another Lunasword by them. ;D

Yeah, I saw that this morning--love the sword. Buddy o' mine told me the comic was pretty decent.
BKS has a bunch of cool stuff available on the site right now (makes me wish I had some spare cash).

Are these fellows kin to you Zach?
The common thread of artistic talent spurs my inquiry, in addition to the shared surname.

Are these fellows kin to you Zach? The common thread of artistic talent spurs my inquiry, in addition to the shared surname. Well, I suppose that depends on how far back you want to reach into history before you consider people related. The surname comes from Spain and is a pretty old one, and whereas my father's family roots go back to Mexico and then to Spain, the Luna Brothers have Filipino heritage. If you take family trees all the way past the 15th century, it's entirely likely that we have shared ancestors in el Reino de España, but for practical purposes, naw, I wouldn't say we're kin. It's an awesome name though, I gotta give them that! ;D As for artistic inclinations, I do know that that runs in my family--I'm the youngest and least "artistic" (in the drawing, painting visual arts realm) Luna in my immediate family. My brother: clunaartworks.com/cla_ImgView.php?ID=236 and my cousin: www.denverwine.net/wines.cfm?wine=5 are commercial artists and my brother is an art teacher, my elder sister has her degree in Studio Art and my aunt was a celebrated sculptor and painter. Art is a pastime for me, but for some Lunas it's a way of life. Seems like the same is the case for the Luna brothers.

Do you know how wierd it was working on 2 projects at the same time with guys named Luna and they were both leaf blades? Irony!

I... I... Have no words.. I'm gonna go play with my sharp pointy things now. On a different note that is one massive blade. I bet it would be hell to wield effectively.

...That wasn't the Luna I was expecting. I like Zach's swords better. The BKS recreation looks more proportionate than the drawing of it on the cover of that comic. Oh, and for your daily grammar nazi comment: "The Luna brothers commisioned us to bring their drawings to life." Sorry. I couldn't help myself.
