Greetings all,
I know that Deepeeka has a hit or miss reputation, (mainly miss), but has anyone seen, handled, or owned the Valmy saber. It's a sword I've admired for some time. Kult of Athena is offering it for around $80. Any info would be helpful.
Cheers

Yeah, I've been teased by this one also; purely as a historical piece of interest. I've never bought a Deepeeka that wasn't a stage sword/wall hanger.
This is a so-so recreation of a french royal army 1784 infantry hanger.
2.5 lbs isn't a bad weight for a sword, but deepeeka only makes stage blades; no cutting, period.
The sword is out of stock at KOA, maybe aurora boutique has it in stock. The deepeeka logistics pipeline isn't very strong. It's a hit and miss proposition getting your hands on one when you think of it.

My question is, is the hilt work solid enough to put on a better, cut worthy blade? I really like the look of it.

I, too, had an interest in that one a while back. After learning of Deepeeka's reputation, though, I didn't bother with it. However, I am still curious to know how sturdy it is. It might make for a good practice saber. Sorry I can't help you with your question, though.
