Dragon*Con Begins In One Week! Pre-reg begins next Thursday evening between 6-10pm. I always wait til Friday morning myself, but that's my preference. At any rate, you have seven days to make up your mind and exchange your information with those that are definately going. Let us know, we'd be interested in getting together! I always register in... like.. December >.> Well, I meant you can pick up your pre-reg on Thursday evening if you have already purchased it. They wont let you actually register if you don't have a pass until Friday morning. I've waited 4 hours in that line before - it is NO FUN. I bought my pre-reg last month. I'd buy it earlier, but I am never 100% certian that I will be able to take vacation or not due to scheduling. Last year, I waited in line on all three days. Friday, I waited in line for 3.5 hours or so to get my pass. My son came on Saturday, and we waited in line about 2 hours. My wife came on Sunday and we waited in line about an hour. I am sick of the lines already. Hopefully this year, I will be in line only 20-30 minutes total. I guess we will see.

Lines suck. Ever stop and think how much of your life is spent standing in line? I did... when my wife and I went to Disney World for our anniversary.

Lines do suck, but everything sucks harder at Disneyworld. That place is like Mordor to me....*shudder*
However, Dragon*Con does not suck, and the lines are quite nice if you are next to people to chat with about weapons, armor, movies, RPGs, etc. Then, the lines move kind of fast if you are engaged in an enjoyable conversation.

Only a few more days until my friends and I start packing up to head out. I've been twice already, but I'm still jittery with excitement. I have the urge to scream: [glow=yellow,2,300]IT'S SO FLUFFY!![/glow] Even though it has no real bearing on the situation

The Con begins TOMORROW! If you are going to be there and would like my cell phone number, shoot me a PM here. I'll be checking back periodically.

Well, I was in line with my wife, who I enjoy having conversation with more then anyone else in this world... and that could still not defeat the suckage.

I have returned from Dragon Con in case anyone missed me ;D We had a blast, and I got to meet Sarge and his son. There was too much awesomeness to fit into one post so I'm not even going to try. I just hated having to come back early because of work Anyways, Just letting you all know I'm back if anyone needed anything. Later!

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get many pics this year, just a few on my cellphone that I'll extract and post later. For some reason I forgot my camera every single time I left my room. My friends got tons of pics though. I'll steal them next week sometime after they get back home.

It was good to meet Wes and see his Cthulhu inspired sword, that thing was freaking awesome. All in all, it was a medocre Con for me, alot of last minute things went down that took away from a bit of the enjoyment - but it was still well worth the effort. The good thing about DragonCon is that there is always another one starting 362 days after the one you are currently at is over with. The best part of the Con this year for me was being able to meet many people - old friends and new ones. Something nice, but completely unexpected, I did two interviews, one with a medieval literature professor from Troy University and another with a high school history teacher / archeological intern. They were walking around the Con looking for historically accurate outfits, and I got pulled aside both times. I'll link back to the interviews once they get them posted. Right now, I have gotten my period clothing washed, my swords cleaned/oiled, and my armor cleaned and put away. Recovering and cleaning is the worst part. My surcoats look like they were worn though the First, Second, and Third Crusades because of the maille tarnish, leather dye bleeding, and the occasional spilled drink. Anyway, the stuff is ready for my next event now, so I can relax. Perhaps next Con, there will be more of you show!

Here is a photo of Laithoron and myself on Saturday. He was wearing his swashbuckler outfit with his SBG BKS Fantasy Bastard Sword and I was wearing Hospitaller garb with a somewhat out of period Windlass Type XIV that I customized about a month ago. I chose the Type XIV due to it's light weight and 26" blade length for easy of carry in large crowds: Attachments:
