Ok, I was given a really nice Katana as a gift, the only thing that lets it down is the poorly done hamon. the sword has a lovely purple ito, rayskin same, well done horimono, etc and I'm more than happy with it, exept for the hamon which is quite finely done but was obviously done in stages as the "grain", or direction of the wire-brush strokes is variable at best. Have any of you lot ever polished out a wire-brushed hamon and if so, how did you do it?

I just polished some Kult of Athena sword blanks, which had acid etching and wire brushed hamon... I sanded them out... 200-2000 grit hybrid polish.
