Hi, I'm looking to wire-wrap the grip of one of my cheap sword - for fun & learning process; but I simply had no idea of how to go about it. So, all advises are welcome Pls advise on 1) types of wire used & where to mail-order them? 2) how to estimate the wire length required? 3) the steps to doing it? 4) Any other pointers to note.. etc. Thanks in advance

www.cds1.net/~nardi/swords/index.htmI found this link awhile back when I was thinking of rewrapping the grip of my El Cid walhanger. At the top of the page are alot of precut lengths for specific sabres, but there are a couple that just sell by length. The few examples of wire wrapping i've looked closely at have been two wires twisted together and then wrapped around the grip. Hope you find what you're looking for ;D

Hey Larry. I'll only help you if you promise to give us : a. Lots of photos of the process. b. Tell us what you learnt to make it easier for me when I do one. Ok? Ok. In that case - read thoroughly through this thread as it tells you what this guy learnt in trying his. www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=2312&highlight=godfredThe trick seems to be to have one end of the two strands in a vice, and the othere end in a variable speed drill. Then you can twist it nice and even. Ha ha. sounds easier than it must be. Good luck, look forward to finding out what you learned through the process.
