Hello, all! Well, I have found a sword that I really like... but I'm going to get a custom Odinblade made off of it's design, as I want a different grip length, blade length, tip profile, POB, etc, etc... only one problem. The Atrim I'm basing my Odin off of has a 35" blade, 7" grip, and 45" OAL, okay? I want that to be a 31" blade with an 8" grip, same pommel and guard... That's all fine and good, right? Well, yes, it is... John can make ANYTHING, those stats are no issue, lol. However, he did suggest that it might look a bit 'wierd' with the long grip/short blade combo, so I was hoping I could ask one of you fine techno-geniuses to help me out here. My idea is to edit ---THIS--- pic, using the OAL in the pic as a scale, knowing that it's 45". Then extend the grip and shorten the blade while leaving the pommel and guard as-is. Would that be hard? If not, are any of you able/willing to help me with that? I can do MS Paint, but more advanced stuff is far being me, lol. Thanks so much for your input! ;D -Slayer

Apparently CF doesn't want people to save pictures of their swords. I've tried several ways to save this pic in order to work with it but have been unsuccessful. Sorry Slayer. Someone good at drawing will have to draw it to scale first and then modify it as you wish.

I'll see if I can save/photoshop the image when I get out of work tonight. If anyone wants to give it a crack, you could tryeither print-screening the photo, then cropping, or possibly seeing if there's a direct like in the page source code, unless that's blocked from viewing as well. Can't tell from my phone

Someone good at drawing will have to draw it to scale first and then modify it as you wish. In order to save the image: First, center it on your window so the entire image is visible. Second, hit 'PrtScr' or 'Print Screen'. Third, open Paint, Photoshop, or any other photo editing software that allows you to start with a blank canvas. Fourth, hit 'Ctrl + V' in order to paste the image/screenshot you copied in step two. Fifth, use the selection tool to 'crop' the image you wanted out of the screenshot. Use Ctrl + C or Ctrl + X to load it onto your clipboard. Sixth, open a new project, be sure the canvas size is appropriate (using MS Paint, just make sure it's smaller than your selection...Photoshop will automatically size a new project to the image size in your clipboard), and paste (Ctrl + V). You now have a working copy of your image. Good luck with your project Slayer...if I get a bit of time over the next few days I'll see if I can pitch in and help out =D. Cris

Wow, great minds. Here's my version showing how much blade was removed.

Wow. Just.... wow. Thanks, guys! ;D You're geniuses, the lot of ya. I'll be dishing out karma for the next few hours, lol. That's perfect... it looks great, not at all lopsided or wrong to me. I'll have to get John to take a look at this, but I'm thinking it should work out nicely. Thanks again! I doubt I could have done anything CLOSE to that good on my own, and now I have a perfect model... You guys rock. ;D I'll let you know what John says... I'll call him tomorrow, most likely. -Slayer

Nice job, guys! Finally just got out of work, so a bit late to the game Slayer, looking forward to seeing what John thinks. Just don't be afraid to let him make any subtle changes he thinks are best. The Odindude knows what he's doing

The Odindude knows what he's doing Definitely, thanks fore the advice. I'm leaving broad portions of the deisgn to him. For example, I had thought that a 2 lb weight would make it awesomely fast, but he said that then it would cut badly, since it would have very little mass, so he's going to make it heavier with a closer POB than I had planned, for similar handling and better performance. John totally knows his stuff. The man's awesome. Now, just to get the $.... -Slayer
