So a full review about my new Iaito.
I study MJER, and my sensei thought it was time for me to begin using a sword, instead of a Bokken.
It's is custom here that you start with Bokken, and learn all the basics, kata's and etiquette in the dojo, before using and Iaito.
I went on the net, and found what i needed.
A British site that gets there Iaito's made in Japan, and they are fully customizable, so you get what YOU want.
This is the site.

The swords are ordered at ninecircles in the UK, and they sent the order to Japan, then you have to wait 8-12 weeks for it to be made and sent to UK and then to you.
I got mine in 8 weeks.
It came with GLS, 2 weeks ago, yai :-)
A wait worth wile,,, though i have now tried it yet, because of vacation. :-(
It came very well wrapped.
........................................................................................................
Entire sword in saya
I chose to have a brown speckled saya, and it's very nice, it have a more shiny glase to it than my other speckled says, but it just helps to make the sword look even more classy.
Tsuka, Fuchi, kashira and menuki.
The Tsuka is PERFECTLY shaped, a little waisted and curved in shape, it's 26cm long so there is the perfect space between my hands.
the ito is super tight, and can not be moved, it's made of cotton.
The same is very nice, probably the best quality i have ever seen.
Fuchi, Kashira and Menuki are are bras, i did think about silver, but then they would stand to much out.
They are plum blossom theme.
Tsuba are all so plum blossom theme, and actually quite small.
Specs 67x64x5 and 62 grams.
It's made of iron
The blade is made of sink alloy. and very light.
Sori is 2cm and length of nagasa is 71cm
Habaki and seppa are brass
I chose to have a straight hamon, because i don't think we see so many of them, and i think they look kind of harmonic and classy.

Ok, i have now used this sword a couple of times, and i am impressed. It's light, agile and the balance is just perfect.
My sensei tried it today, he was even more impressed than i am, :-) his words for the sword, and i quote " this have perfect balance and weight"
So, for now, the only thing i can say, is Perfect, at least for me :-)
