I'm a sissy when it comes to samecolors ;D No really, I'm a total "white same" fan, but can also live with black, but besides from that, I'm having a hard time - at least on my own swords I've seen pics of red same before, and though it looked interesting on the daisho I saw, it's just not for me.

That saya is karma deserving stuff mate, hence. I wouldn't trust myself with white Ito. Nothing I have that's white stays white for too long. ;D

Thank you all very much I've just bought some white leather ito that I plan on wrapping the PPK in. I might end up using some bloodred silk I have instead though. depends on how that white leather looks in real life ;D I hope that the leather, once treated with either oil, fatt or maybe one of those rainproof-sprays, will stay white. The silk on the tanto probably will get dirty rather fast - I can't resist handling my swords, and I always forget to check my hands before doing so Anyway, I'll post some pics when I get it done.

How about some work-in-progress or how-to photos?

Sorry, but I didn't make any photos during the process. I explained how I did it in this thread: /index.cgi?board=swordcustom&action=display&thread=1184612746 I'll most likely make another soon. I'll take pictures all the way then. I'm going to Germany tomorrow to buy some more funny-paint ;D I have an idea for my Shinto saya - let's see what they've got.

Well, they didn't have much after all even though the producer of the marble stuff said so, the two stores I went to didn't have it. all I got was a black granite paint, which I'll use for ishime saya - I've already used it on my shinken saya today. Can't be used as is, but needs a little work. we'll see

I was thinking that a deep blue leather wrap over black same might go well with wave fittings, but I have no idea where to find the leather for it
