Hi all,
I recently acquired an oniyuri (Thanks Paul!) and it is very cool.
Cosmetically there are only a few imperfections - small dings/scrapes in the brass tsuba. One of the seppa is a bit bent at the edges so it looks like there was some difficulty in putting the components together.
Remembering back to when I had to polish brass belt components for my uniform, it seems to me that the only way to remove the dings/scrapes is to polish the whole thing back to the level of the deepest ding so as to keep an even finish. Honestly I don't think that this is worth it as it would take a lot of time and effort for such minor markings - and I would lose the 'antiqued' finish!
I'd appreciate any other ideas!

Either tell people they're from slaying evil ninja or try BRASSO is my guess ! ;D Doesn't an antiqued look have to have wear and tear anyway ?
Remember, never be afraid to post pictures. ;D

Unfortunately my camera isn't that great and these are the best I could do... Evil ninja?! How about slaying corrupt samurai...

They aren't too bad , probably as you said bit of a rush job on the tsuka installation. I have a bit of a shocking mekugi ana drilling effort on my Shura ko but cosmetic things I can get over. If it had of been structural I would have been on that phone. ;D

Yeah I agree - cosmetic changes might make an interesting project sometime in the future!
