...a decorative wallhanger/sword-like object I bought in Spain in early 2001? It's 17 inches long and I think the hilt is plastic and the scabbard is some kind of light metal. Even knowing who made it would help a lot. I've tried googling the "TMP" trademark and come up with nothing useful. Sorry if this is off-topic, but I couldn't find anywhere better to ask. Thanks in advance for any information.

I don't have a "useful" comment, but I have to say it's a darned shame that it IS an SLO! If that were bone or ivory (although I DETEST the killing of elephants for ivory) and the blade was of a decent quality, it would be an incredible piece. It really is a pretty thing. I hope someone can be more helpful than I, but just thought it worth saying that, as a display item/conversation piece, it is very attractive. Good luck!

Made by Marto in Toledo, Spain. The tsuka should be resin or the like, the blade is 440 stainless. I think this is a discontinued model.
Hope that helps! ^_^

Now I just have to search through hundreds of possibilities instead of tens of thousands. I agree, warriorpriest--it is pretty and I wish I could try it out, but unfortunately, I need to sell it. Maybe I'll get a real one sometime.
