here are some designs i made the first one is a fantasy viking i made for darksword armory (i didn't have answer about if it is made or waiting to be made but will actually be part of a production run) the viking fantsy havev been modified a little to be more historical the one in this thread is the roiginal design i made before modifying it with a more historically accurate blade. but unfortunalely i only have the three parts drawing (it have been made as a real life drawing) so here's the part 1 Attachments:

the specs for this sword would be (if it has not been changed) oh! i forgot to tell the name of this sword i called it the Ragnarok (since DSA have this reputation of forging nearly indestructible swords i thought it would be a great name for it ) overall:30 1/2'' blade: 24'' grip:4'' pommel:2'' cross-guard thickness: 1/2 or less i don't remember (i designed this in october) the runes on it is the name of the sword. let me know what you think of it. edit: forgot to precise the cross-guard thing...

I really like the pommel and the guard Etienne. But if I were you i would rework the tip, make it rounder, more viking style, let the fuller run longer and smoothen a bit the curve on the leaf shape. I like the name you found for the blade !

Personally, I LIKE the fantasy shape of the blade, with the slight angles, but I do think a longer, possibly wider, fuller would be a must. With DSA's average weight, they need all the fuller they can get. Oh, and instead of a flattened diamond cross section after the fuller, wouldn't lenticular be lighter AND better? Other than that, beautiful work, man! I like it. -Slayer

thanks for the kind words and for the tips, i thought to put a lenticular section but as i said this is the original design, the real one will be more historical. i was thinking of using the viking blades they made recently with the large fullers... for the tip i was inspired by a fellow forumite of mine in the myarmoury forum, he took this kind of tip for his partisan and for his cinquedea if i remember correctly ;D. i enjoyed drwing this one thanks again.

to add a little precision about the blade i asked eyal to put something similar to this one www.darksword-armory.com/1328-Viking-Sword.htmlwide fuller, nice tapering, runes on blade, all in all a nice light and agile sword with a nice balance in cutting and thrusting but of course it is only hypothetic because i never forged or made a sword in my entire life (i'm only 19 so i still have time )

Good idea, man! It sounds like it should work.... of course, neither have I ever made a bladed weapon, but I'm only 15, so I've got time too! Well, 16 in 14 days. -Slayer

i would like to remake the drawing of my twin feather tsuba design but there's thing i don't know about it...
i tried to imagine it with some plating but i don't know it is kind of hard to find good combination that wouldn't look bad...
anyway today i'm doing the black and white one (and a variation) if you have some idea of what plating should cover then go on and tell me i have a hard time deciding...
oh! by the way on the tsuba there is two feathers, one blackened and one golden (or brass) for that it'S ok but there is this bamboo patterned rim should i let it the same color as the metal used or should i plate it...

I never took the time to say it here before, but I respect really much what you do with your designs. You really have talent with this. Don't stop improving yourself!

this is a concept design i made for toysarus. i was inspired by a german design and an italian one. it features 6 languets each with writings either elven (tolkien style) or dwarven as it is a weapon made to unite the two races to vanquish a common ennemy. we chose 6 languets to show the power of the six elements that are fire, water, earth, wind, light and darkness. in the fantastic realm whom that weapon belongs this weapon have a prismatic power (for those who doesn't know its all the elements in one). the prismatic power differ from user to user by a magical power in the blood of all beings we call anima. other than the primatic power it Has somewhat the power to rally both dwarves and elves to the wielder's cause.(of course it is more of a psychologic effect than a magic one) i tried to put both of the culture in one weapon let me know if i have succeeded Attachments:

You've got some pretty good designs here! Ragnarok looks pretty good, but I agree with enkidu. I would lengthen the fuller, possibly make it a bit wider too, and make the tip a little less acute. I really like the rune-work and the waisted grip though.
The halberd certainly looks well-decorated as well, and I love the bamboo Musashi style tsuba. Perhaps I should submit some of my designs on here. I've got some pretty nice ones. A swordsmith in Indiana, by the name of Robert P. Shylan-Norwalt (I hope I didn't butcher his name), actually used one of my blade designs for a piece he did for one of his customers.
