Well it's been here a few weeks but this is the first time I had time to post. It seems to be a Conan Atlantion blade 38 tl - 21bl - 8in ricasso - 2.250 width. I figured for the $40.00 I'd figure out something to do with it.It has been heat treated as it has good flex and returns to true every time.Seems it needs a good polishing to get the surface rust off it,it is very straight and seems to be complete except for the hardware and the blade polishing. I've seen some of the wicked talented makers around the forum that have made a few Conan type swords/hardware so I guess my next step would be to contact a few of them to get some pricing. It dosent even have to look like a Conan sword but with that long ricasso it's hard to see anything else.Hell if it cant be done right away I'll still have a decent blade around for later. Anyone else go for a moat sale blade,I really wanted the Subotai shaped blade but they were always sold.

I know where those Subotai Blades are. I think they are mild steel though.

That blade is begging for a fantasy hilt. If you make it happen I'd love to see it.

Congrats on getting one that was already finished buliwyf. I got one of those as well which was not yet heat treated and had 1/8 inch of edge still on it. Turned out really nice though (blade's done, still working on the hilt between other projects). Yep, I bought the two Subotia blades One was clearly marked 1018 on the tang, the other wasn't marked but I suspect it is also 1018. I heat treated it anyway so I'll see.

I came very close to buying a thinner long saber blade from the moat sale.I was just about to order it when Mike over at Albion let me know it was 1018 and it would be to soft to use as is. i just happened to check again the next week and they had a whole lot more blades especially these conan shaped ones, guess I just got lucky on getting one they were going fast.
