Thanks for the new idea!
I might adopt this method for some of my lesser used blades, but I think I've got all the same hooks in a drawer somewhere. (Well, I know I HAD 2 of em, but as to finding them...)

That's different. I've settled on using curtain rod hangers. Just the cheap ones. A few of mine are hung by metal hooks with a rubber coating over them that I bought in a dollar store. This is a neat idea too. I can imagine hanging a battle-axe this way.

I've used hemp cord rather than the para-cord as 1mm hemp is 20lb test, 1.5mm hemp is 58lb test, and the thick 3mm "monster" hemp that is commonly used for macrame belts, dog collars, and such is a full 500lb test. I also use a single knot method and loop the cord back onto itself to create the hanging loop.

Why do people always think of that "stuff" when I mention hemp. Industrial hemp is not a drug, contains almost no THC, and will not get a person "high' no matter what. It makes great cordage, and can be spun and woven into cloth that's comparable to cotton for breath ability and comfort, but much stronger. Anyway, spools of the less expensive hemp jewelry cord run between $5 and $15 depending on size and amount. At Hobby Lobby a 300 yard spool of 20lb hemp runs $5 even plus sales tax. At price per yard it is much less expensive than the paracord.

Chill, bro. No one's accusing you of anything. You're among friends here! I wish I had a little more "hemp" experience lately. ;D

It's okay. LOL if, IF, I could remember half the concerts I've been to I would concur with your experience. I was in no way offended, and - dang - sarcasm doesn't translate well online. As for your experience I would love to hear more about it in the cafe perhaps sometime

It has been effectively prohibited in the United States since the 1950s. *George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp. Ben Franklin owned a mill that made hemp paper. Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper. *When US sources of "Manila hemp" (not true hemp) was cut off by the Japanese in WWII, the US Army and US Department of Agriculture promoted the "Hemp for Victory" campaign to grow hemp in the US. *Because of its importance for sails (the word "canvass" is rooted in "cannabis") and rope for ships, hemp was a required crop in the American colonies.

Didn't read the rest of the posts, But I had a Kukuri I hung like that for many years and it eventually broke on the thin leather strap(luckily it fell into the piles of clothes below, the one time being lazy came in useful:P)
Just something to keep in mind, As long as its new and what not it should be fine. But over the years it does put stress on those thin peices.
Edit: Like I said i really didnt read any posts im sleepy! I just noticed you tied the cord around the grip, that should hold much better than using a leather strap already provided on the sheath.
