I've tried a muddy red color. Pure red does burn the eyes out, but maybe this red right now looks better. Btw - sorry to be switching stuff around on you while you are in. I'd rather do it this way than kick everyone off the forum and post the 'down for maintenance sign' (gone fishin sign). But yeah, let me know what works and what doesn't.

Lol, don't kick us off, we enjoy the active fixing I think anything except for pink, blue, and green will work fine

Hehe - no fears on the pink, blue and green. This is kind of fun. I'm also having a look around for some new smileys to add and another fun buttons and stuff. I've added a dice roller to the roleplaying forums, but the damned thing doesn't seem to work. Lots of fun little ad ons coming...

Dice rollers would suck - with my luck I'd get a six every time Who'd ever want to roleplay THEN ;D

New Header is spot on what it should be. Internal forum links are okay whatever color, but I agree that they may be more useful in any color other than black. You should be proud of your baby, it is nice. And truly is the friendliest around, no bs. You are getting ready to experience lots of growth, I think. The ability to post pics directly will be the crowning achievement, I can tell. I am sure you will double your reviews, and may even have to have a sub header for "vids and photos" , in fact you will probably find that you may get too many. Cheers, Farmer

I think you might be right, I am actually slightly scared. hehe. But yes, you are right - SBG is indeed poised for some big growth and everything should be in place by the end of the year (fingers crossed). I admit that I am completely flat out at the moment getting everything ready, pardon the pun, but I have quite a few irons in the fire at the moment, and have to do a fair bit of juggling (not with swords thankfully!) - but it's all for the greater good. I just have to remember to pace myself every now and again, it is frustrating to have so many things that I want to do - and only so many hours in the day to do them in.

Actually its a reddy brown - red is too 'my eyes, my eyes!' and brown is too, well, brown. But yeah, I'm pleased with it - the forum is much purdy-er.

With the update the link to Sword Buyer's Guide homepage was removed. I liked having this link readily available to dash over to the site or SBG store.

I think SBG is the most active sword forum on the Internet right now. I can't keep up with the new posts. I have 3 pages of new unread posts just in the General area from last night. SBG has passed 700 members. That may not be as much as My Armory, but we certainly have more active members.
I think one of the reasons for SBG's success is the welcoming attitude of new members by old members. Not only do we welcome them but we want to hear their opinions and reviews of swords they own. I recall once hearing on SFI that sword reviews should be left to sword-experts. bullsemprini!!! Who the hell is a sword-expert anyway. How can someone else tell you what you will like??? Everyones opinion is worth considering.

Well said, tsafa. I like to think if everyone has a say in it then we get different results - hence, an average quality! The more the better!

How about more pictures in the Profile.
There are a lot of new members. Pictures are a good way to get to know people and the avatar space is too small to get a good look at people. Is it possible to have and area in the profile where people can post pictures? Maybe a self description area too. This way we when we see new posts we can know who they are.

Please please please lighten the background. As an aged forumite I am finding things extremely difficult to read. Other than that I find the new look great, well done

Hello,
The recent change to the forum was a bit dissapointing as I had a really hard time reading/seeing anything. I am a huge fan of easy to see pages :-)
I just came home from class and popped in to check the boards and I find a very pleasant shade of blue and a wonderfull white background!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. Clean Classy and most important of all EASY TO SEE Thank you Thank you Thank you. I love it. Looking great!!!
Take care, Skip

Okay, I'm now looking at a parchment colored skin with some sword silhouettes on the right hand side. Nice, with the light beige background I can again read posts, but the Nav buttons at the top are too light of a gray to be seen well. Maybe a dark green, like forest green?
