...or am I the only person who thinks it would be cool to have swords from the anime Bleach on your wall even if you probably couldn't use it? Sode no Shirayuki even in shikai could be reproducible as functional since it's a katana.
Thoughts?

Some of them could make interesting reproductions. Sode no Shirayuki would look awesome if done right, and I've always kinda liked Ulquiorra's Murcielago.
Plenty of them are inherently unpractical, though. Zabimaru, Tobiume, Wabisuke... Pretty much all of the crazy-looking ones are only good for wallhangers at best, and honestly, I'm not enough of a Bleach fan to bother with that.
Anyway, the main problem as I see it is that the Bleach repros that do exist are incredibly ugly and strive too much to emulate the anime look, rather then taking the general idea and applying it to actual Japanese style swords. Hence why the tend to look kinda fake.

I'm not a hardcore bleach fan, but I enjoy watching it when I catch it on. The only non-zanbatou sword that I really really like is the girl that dresses in white. Her sword has a little chain dangling from the kashira. I've seen some replicas but they all look super cheap.

As someone who abandoned the anime years ago but is current in the manga I cannot say that any of the swords appeal to me in any of their forms, at least not any more so than any generic Japanese-style sword might. That said, VS, you lost me. Who? The only sword matching that description I can think of is the aforementioned Shirayuki. I don't recall any girls who dress in white. Is this one of the many inventions of the anime?

Is this one of the many inventions of the anime? Actually, he might be talking about Sode no Shirayuki herself. ...Yeah, this will get a bit weird. ^^; See, a recent filler arc had all the zanpakutou spirits take human forms and rebel against their owners. Pretty much all the known zanpakutou got their own character design. Also, they could manifest and use their sword forms as well, so you got Sode no Shirayuki fighting with Sode no Shirayuki. Yeah, it's less confusing then it sounds. Also, it must be noted that was, like, the single best filler arc ever. I mean, I usually hate filler but it was really, really awesome.

Yeah, I'd heard about that one. There is no such thing as good filler, thus there can be no "best filler" either.

I got her mixed up in my head. Her sword is white, not her clothes. had to go hunt down some pictures to see who I was thinking of. Rukia's sword.

Yeah, I think that's a horrible representation of it, VS. How can anyone take that little smiley stuck to the "tassel" seriously? ...I think there's supposed to be a diamond in the place of the 'smiley' in the anime/manga.
I'm, sadly, current with the manga as well. I am very disappointed. I used to love Bleach too.... Now, I have no more faith in that series.... Not to make this into a thread debating the series or anything like that.
Not really interested in any of the swords being made real either. Then again, I dislike the series now, so that may be the reason. Plus, way too many Zanpakuto are out-landish, and pretty much none of them look cool, in my opinion.
To show you how much I used to like Bleach, my "first" sword (more like SLO) was a P.O.S. Hyourinmaru replica from trueswords. I think I've come quite a ways since then, in terms of understanding swords... a little better. I put quotes around 'first' because I don't consider it a sword, and for the most part, I pretend it doesn't exist.

That's why I said that all the replica's I've seen look cheap. I have a ton of other projects I'd like to have done first, but if I ever have money to burn I would get one made right.

Rukia's one of my top three favorite Bleach characters, along with Hiyori and a tie between others. Her bankai, discussed here, is probably my favorite. I just wish she wasn't so outright worthless. All the repros are awful, and I have no desire to see them done well. The series has fallen too far below franchise for me now, and the manga shows a clear running-out of ideas.

Fine, whatever, but I get Hiyori. I'd go with Nel but she's got a bad case of personality changes. Speaking of which, I wonder what ever happened in ol' Hueco Mundo. I can't even remember if Stark/Lilinette vs ...semprini who were they fighting? Was it the flower coat guy or the sickly fellow...or both? Anyway...did that fight ever end? I hate shounen.

Both, I think. The fight did end... in a very unceremonious manner. I actually JUST remembered this. Friggin' Aizen and semprini. I think Tite Kubo is kinda just like, "Okay, whatever, let's go back to Ichigo and leave everyone else hanging while I continue adding random crap to this manga!"
Forget Bleach... Berserk needs to be released more often, and enough with Griffith's semprini army killing random monsters for the last 20 chapters or whatever!
Sorry if I made a spoiler for anybody. I really don't know where the anime is at. Freakin' fillers and crap.

I keep forgetting that I aim to eventually become current in the available Berserk at some point. Seems some crazy stuff has gone down since I left off and I feel like I'm missing out. Even if it is the same generic formula.............

It's strange, I accidentally started a sword collection and my favorite is my Tensa Zangetsu. It's probably low grade as far as katanas go as far as I understand. Never the less it's my favorite. I wouldn't mind getting some of the others made. While most are impractical monstrosities I still find em kinda cool.

Freeeeaaaak. Just kidding. There are a few that would make interesting wall hangers...but the better majority would be very, very bad, cheesy gimmick swords. Like Gin's. What the devil is that supposed to be, anyway?

Many are pretty by design. But I kinda feel fake and fanboyish if I go around parading an anime sword IMHO -_-'
And people would laugh at me for paying money for a cheesy looking wallhanger up the wall. xD That said, I really like Sode no Shirayuki!
Imagine that with white silk ito and high polished silver fittings *o*

Lol everyone...I do agree that some filler arcs are terrible. I really hated the Bount arc, that's my opinion, but the Zanpakuto rebellion was the best arc.
And yes, I noticed that all the replicas look really terrible and ugly. I don't see why Sode no Shirayuki would be such a hard sword to replicate. animelover, I agree totally with you. And randomnobody, Gin's Shinso wasn't that bad, lol. For some reason I hate Zabimaru the most.
I didn't know someone found a Hyorinmaru on Trueswords. Doesn't trueswords.com sometimes have okay swords? I guess that one was a wallhanger.
In my opinion, if it's a reasonably good-looking wallhanger that's not overpriced, I'll buy it.
If anyone finds good replicas please post!

I agree that though the rest are totally impractical, they still rock.
