The Heron Mark Sword. To anyone who's a fan of The Wheel of Time, these swords are must have for sheer geekery if nothing else. And Windlass's Heron Mark is a beauty, no dountig that. What I want to know is how functional it is.
The one review for it in the fantasy sword review section didn't conduct any tests. The reviewer was happy just to have this sword and I can respect that. But my curiosity begs to know just how functional their version is.
So has anyone done any cutting tests with one? Is it strictly a well done show piece or can it hold its own? Mostly I ask to determine if I should add it to my collection or possibly think of commissioning one to my taste at some point in time. I go for both beauty and function.

It's coming. I think I'll just post the review without cutting. My elbow hasn't heal for 7 months.

I cut with one back when it came out. I actually liked it a bit better than the Hanwei katana that I used that day.

If you are unsure perhaps go with the WoT inspired Warder sword from Valiant for now. Beatiful and very functional. I can send / post some more pic's of it if you like.
Cheers,

Yeah, the Warder rocks. I've talked to the man himself about it (John Lundemo), and it seems to be dead on awesome. -Slayer
