as soon as my refund arrives i plan on buying a river witham sword by gen2.i want to do more than just "swing it around" though.I'm interested in how it was actually used as in what styles and techniques for that particular design.I'm brand new to swords so i have really no clue.any input would be much appreciated, thanks!

There's a good thread about how to grip a viking sword over at myarmoury. Here: www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=2478&start=0The fact is that we don't actually know how the vikings fought, since there aren't any manuals existing from that time. The best we can do at this point is to study the I:33 arming sword and buckler tretise, and extrapolate backwards.

Their work is based on good research. Worthy of further study.

I'm not sure if you noticed but you are on a forum where we look for the cheapest and the best. Your blanket statement is ill thought out and, considering the forum, ill conceived. Think a bit more carefully before you post in future. Also why are you responding in a double post to something you said yesterday?

Is one available in DVD? I'd gladly pay that if anyone has or knows where to find a copy. Christian

I read recently that he's thinking of remaking that.

I read recently that he's thinking of remaking that. He can't. Nov 1 Hank passed away from complications from surgery. We never did get to bring out the number of items in his collection that we had hoped for. We are still in legal negotiations with the Reinhardt Estate to continue to bring out more items.

I think the book you're reading is about a 'martial art' called stav. I can save you some time: fight dirty. That's what the 'teachers' tell people, and that's all it is. Something of a not-so-well thought out scam.
