Not sure I'd want to fiddle with such an expensive sword... plus it looks just about perfect as is. I do agree that it looks about right, from what I remember of the game and looking at tiny google images. Odd how there are no replicas being made. Then again, I don't think that game was that popular. Dunno.

Actually the silver sword is light and swift with a rather thin profile, think H/T Bastard Sword in terms of weight, blade dimensions and handling. The steel sword of Geralt is a longsword, near warsword the silver sword a hand n a half

Yeah, the silver sword was lighter and smaller than the Witcher steel swords you use. I am surprised this game didn't get more recognition, its great.

I own the Witcher for PC. Played it and kicked it's butt. My favorite sword from that game is the Holy Sword of the Order. What a cool looking sword. The sword from the lady in the puddle is good too. There are other swords to be found through out the game. Found'em all and sold'em. There is a complete list I found on the Witcher wikia site. All the other sword weren't my style.
As for the Silver sword: it made me wish I had another claymore as well. Although I actually prefer the look of the Albion and Hanwei claymores to the Witcher sword.
His is a little to short for my liking. Wouldn't mind a replica of the holy sword of the order. But even then...my Braveheart is pretty similar.
Cool game with some cool looking blades in it.

If you ever watch the polish tv show WiedŸmin, Geralt actually has a long sword and elven like sabre. The game takes place long after the books. If you do get a chance though, read The Last Wish, it is a great short story collection of the world of The Hexer (Witcher). The sword in the game has a very strange cross section though. It is mostly diamond hollow ground with a small fuller towards the tip. Very unusual and the guard is just as odd too.

I am going to read the Witcher books as soon as I get through the three series I am on now. (The Corean Chronicles, Runelords, and A Song of Ice and Fire) Are they in any order, is there a recommended order if not?

The issue is that the Witcher books have not all been released in English. There were many made and only the Last Wish and Blood Of Elves were translated into English. The rest are still in Polish, Russian, and I believe there was a Spanish translation also but not sure. The Last Wish and Blood of Elves are indepedent of one another. I have not read the Blood of Elves but I do know that the child that comes into Geralt's possesion due to the law of surpise is refferencing a short story in The Last Wish. I'd read the Last Wish first but if you decide to just skip it and read the Blood of Elves, you should still be able to follow the story. The Last Wish is good though, it has the story in there where he fights the Striga in it among other important stories. Also it includes some cool stories with Dandelion and Yennefer, Geralt's first true love who should have been mentioned more in the game. I believe both characters are in Blood of Elves. I know Yennefer is but she is first introduced in The Last Wish.

Might Try this one... www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=VA54030&name=Valiant+Armoury+Scottish+SwordDunno if anyone's reviewed it or if it's funcional. Certainly close though and is Pretty cheap if it is funtional. With a POB at 2 1/4 and with practice you may just make some of those fancy Witcher moves possible! Edit: Info from Valiant's Website (kult's isn't complete for some reason...) Overall Length: 38" Blade Length: 30" Handle Length: 7" Cross Guard: 6" Blade Material: Hand hammer forged carbon steel Handle Material: Macassar Ebony Weight: 3 lbs. 7oz. Scabbard Included: Two-tone genuine leather scabbard. Scottish Sword: This slender sword typifies the style of weapons used by the Scottish and their Irish cousins in the mid 13th century. Its tapered 30 inch blade and heavy wheel pommel make it an amazingly balanced and swift weapon capable of both slashing and thrusting. Though the wheel pommel’s first job is to add balance to a sword, in a pinch this heavy piece of steel held close to the bottom of the fist could double as a bludgeoning tool. This tactic gave birth to the term pummeling. The forward sloped lobed quillons make it possible for a skilled swordsman to entangle his opponent’s weapon allowing him the chance to over power a lesser man with either a second weapon like a dirk, or simply by grappling the opponent and wrestling him to the ground. (Leather Scabbard Included) Three pounds seem's heavy. Maybe the POB will counter it...
