A review at the bottom says the sword is dull... so there is that, its not ment to be a real sword at all. So if your looking for a decoration it might be fine. Oh, BTW, Welcome to SBG! Hope you hang around!

Honestly, and I'm not being a smartass here, it's good for a wall hanger and thats about it. It wouldn't do for any kind of cutting at all. BudK has the same sword for 19.99, and says it high carbon steel...... budk.com/Swords/Twisted-Wind-Samurai-Katana-Sword I seriously doubt it.

One look at the enlarged photo tells me this is one bonafide SLO. 440 Stainless, made in China, craptacular "ito" that even calling shoestring would be a compliment, and really? That wire-brushed thing that's supposed to replicate a hamon? No. Just...no. Nevermind that it's reviewed as dull...hell I'm glad it's dull. Hate to think what somebody would do with it if it were sharp. God forbid they ever sharpen it... Absolutely NOT intended for any purpose other than hanging on a wall. I wouldn't even give it that grace. The lowest of the low that I would acknowledge would be a Musashi, even some Masahiro. There are also some Munetoshi for decent budgets. Google these names with the word "sword" and you'll find the ones. There are too many places to link to. In other words, is this sword any good? No. No it is not.

Figured. One can always hope, though. Guess I'd be better served saving up for something decent. Thanks, y'all.

Figured. One can always hope, though. Guess I'd be better served saving up for something decent. Thanks, y'all. There are plenty of semi decent swords in the $50 range if your looking for inexpensive. But I would suggest when looking at low end swords you don't go under that price if you want functional. You can look at musashiswords in their under $50 many people have said they are decent low end production swords. www.musashiswords.com/shop/home.php?cat=27 I would suggest if your going for these less expensive swords that you buy from a reputable dealer. TrueSwords, Swords of Might, Sword N Armory, wiwingti sword supply, etc... Don't forget the SBG coupon codes for some of these shops. When dealing with lower end better to go with a dealer that is known and has a good record. Buying a low end sword from Ebay, Amazon, or random lesser known shops is a risk.
