Hey guys I've been using that hanwei sword oil in that spray bottle, but I just bought some of this choji oil for $15 shipped. cgi.ebay.com/8-oz-Premium-Grade-Choji-Oil-Katana-Sword-and-Kniv-/200410620384?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ea96761e0I notice this guy has tons of choji oil for sale of all different sizes, has anyone ever used his? All I could find were 2 posts back on SFI that mention his oil and they say it is really high grade. I'll see how it is compared to the hanwei stuff, alot of people i've read don't like it, im too big of a fan of it myself after using it now for a month, stuff stinks like machine oil Well I'll let you guys know how this oil is once I get it.

Perhaps I was ignorant but I did not know that choji oils were that expensive. From what I learn, Choji is 99 percent mineral oil and 1 percent olive clove oil. Unless you have difficulty getting light mineral oils such as sewing machine oil or machine oil, I don't see why someone needs to get Hanwei sword oil anyway. The cheapest and the most convenient oil around my place is 3-in-1 oil... so far so good. Edit: Mistaken on the olive oil, should be clove should have read my post. Thanks Dan

That was the point, this guy is selling his choji oil very cheap, compared to the $35+ people want for like less than 2oz not counting shipping. I only paid 15 shipped for 8oz of his "premium" grade.

Nope, 1% Clove or Magnolia oil; never olive oil. Still, you are correct that any light mineral oil will work. try this: www.westchestersewing.com/oil/ it should last you a lifetime.

yup I got the 2 oz Choji oil bottle from bonzaimark. Waiting for him to ship though, it's been two days... $7.79 shipped. He's got really good feedback too, 5,000+ @100% rating is impressive, specially since his feedback is open.. Prices are fair too, albeit you can make your own choji oil... 99% mineral oil, 1% clove oil. Cost to make your own, for 1 batch to last you years/years... $20~.. Around $4 for the clove oil, $15~ for mineral oil. Cost does vary depending on how much your making.

Well I got mine today, Ill post pic of it in a few hours, Shipped on friday and got it monday so pretty quick shipping. I bought the "premium blend" And on the label it basicaly states its for use on blends but can also be used on your bonsai tools if you'd like I've never had any choji oil to compare it too besides the little bottles in those cleaning kits but I don't know if that stuff is choji or not. It is definitely lighter and much more pleasant smelling than my hanwei sword oil.

yup I got mine today as well. The smell is definitely unlike previous choji oil I've had. We'll see how it goes. I will take some pictures later. Mine has "Premium Blend" on the bottle, but it's clossed out with a marker. Just applied it to my blade. We'll see if it rusts or not.

I know, same as mineral oil and what not in the stickies I was just looking for an already made choji oil that didnt cost $100 for a bottle. Looks like this stuff is pretty good though, $15 for a big bottle of supposedly Japanese choji oil, not too bad at all

Well as far as the smell, the supposed choji I have in 3 of my sword cleaning kits all smells like my hanwei sword oil, so im not 100% sure its really choji in those kits. But like we were talking about earlier with 5000+ feedback and all 100% im sure this guy is selling the real deal.

It is real choji oil, the smell isnt as strong as the previous oil it seems. Shouldn't matter really, the mineral oil in the mixture is what matters not the clove oil.

I made myself some of this yesterday Got some mineral oil, well liquid paraffin as it is known in chemists here in Australia, mixed in 1% of clove oil and shazaam cheap choji oil. Well the clove oil cost $6.99 (AUD) for a tiny bottle, but given that I only need a small amount it will last for ages. I'm sure I can get liquid paraffin cheaper than the $5.99 (AUD) per 200ml if I buy in bulk from a hardware store but still nice and cheap for me.
