I wouldn't trust Google Chrome. I have no actual info on their browser, but Google is in the information gathering business. They are gathering all sorts of info on people to better help all those advertisers. Yes Chrome is supposed to be fast, but I wouldn't trust Google with more access to what content I browse. I'm not too worried about that personally, I don't see why Firefox couldn't be doing the same thing anyways. Does Chrome let you block Flash, ads, pop ups, etc..? Yes. Does Chrome have the sort of protection add-ons that Firefox has? Firefox has a huge selection of things to protect users from various internet issues. How is Chrome on these things? I'm not too sure about add-ons, I haven't felt a need to get any yet; I get less issues with Chrome than I did with Firefox.

I know Google gathers info and sells it to advertisers. It is quite well known and a definite fact, though I have not heard if it is the case with Chrome it seems likely. Firefox however I have never heard of them selling information about its users. So for me I would rather use a browser that has no connection with information gathering for advertisers. Opferous had mentioned that Chrome does have extentions, and even 3rd party developers can make them. So it seems Chrome is similar to Firefox at least in that respect. So my only issue with Chrome is being owned by Google who is known for information collection and selling.

I think it's a good program and I'm going to keep using it. P.S. It would be very ironic if you have a facebook account lol.

Hey no worries man, I was curious enough to ask for more info about Chrome. I am not completely rabid against it. And no I don't have Facebook, yuck I so hate that site. I sadly do have a Myspace which does do info collecting, though what they get from my profile is not too worth while. I have it only to stay in touch with friends from all over the world irregularly, who I can't count on to keep the same phone # or address.

The difference I see in weather Google or Firefox is gathering information on people. I know Google gathers info and sells it to advertisers. And to governments and their agencies. It's a lobbying tool. Mozilla, however, is very carefully avoiding the politics game. I think the potential consequences of a misstep scare the living daylights out of them. Unfortunately, Google has some really good products.

Don't forget the announcement that Google would now be cooperating with the US government to help combat terrorism. What happens if the definition of terroristic activity starts getting broader? Swords are dangerous weapons you know. If you're interested in swords, you might be interested in other weapons too. Like guns. Or bombs...

I am totally interested in guns and bombs, explosions are awesome; I think I'll be ok though, I am white after all.

ajustice,
Have you found a fix for this problem yet? I'm curious to see what you did and worked for you.
