That sword is sweet... I remeber seeing it awhile back on SFI... I think it was for sale... but maybe not, might have just been a thread showing it off. Either way, I recal thinking it was hot... and it still is. but danged it that fox jian he made sure looks sweet. Yes, it IS sweet. My personal favorite at the moment. ;D I want to get something from Jin Shi... I tried to pick up that Dao in the used sword market the other day, but alas, I was too slow.

I thought Garrett still had some of his production Dao hanging around, could be mistaken.

Aside from seven Stars, anyone know a good place to get fittings for an ox-tail dao? I like to upgrade the jin-shi production.
Really thinking of getting the Sao Feng sword and strip it.

What's the base price of Garretts stuff? I've considered adding a jian to my collection for a while now.

Fwiw, I raised the question in a discussion about the Hanwei cutting jian, and Garrett said he wouldn't be outdone by Hanwei. He said for a really basic jian he could go around the same price.

If you want to know the base price then please email Garrett, I'm not sure how kosher it is to ask on the forum if he doesn't list it on his web page. Who knows if you ask you just might be surprised, I was certainly surprised at the price I am paying for my twistcore tang jian, man I can't wait!

He said for a really basic jian he could go around the same price. /index.cgi?board=repair&action=display&thread=15980 this is what was wrong with my hanwei cutting jian. i, fortunately, realize that a fluke can exist when mass manufacturing. i, fortunately, know how to fix certain things. i own 4 hanwei swords, and this is the only one with this type of problem. so i say fluke. but my favorite sword is still my jin-shi production jian. no repairs were necessary, and still cuts like a dream. i recently used the jin-shi and a hanwei dadao in a disclaiming vid about the CS war sword. i cut a boot filled with pool noodles just as deep as the CS with a 1.45 lbs jin-shi, and totally obliterated the boot with a 2 lb 5 oz hanwei dadao. i think this impressive for a 1.45 lb jian to do the same damage as a 6+ lb war sword from CS.
