I'm posting this here instead of as an addendum to my classifieds post because the people that have the insight might not necessarily be in the market for a new sword and thus might not be checking the classifieds. Makes sense in my mind anyways At any rate. I'm wondering if given what the swords are and their current condition if I'm trying to sell them at a fair rate. My prices seem more than fair in my own mind, but since I'm the seller, of course they do. I want some opinions from the community and maybe from the vendors as to whether or not I'm asking a good balanced price for these swords. The thread in question is this one: /index.cgi?board=selling&action=display&thread=15948 I'd appreciate any feedback

The "Jian" is actually a dao in the Tang dynasty style. If I had the money I would get it from you, but I'm broke.

That Sei Bu Mon dao is quite the beaut. You're taking nearly a 50% loss there, right? Really quite the shame, I can't see myself willing to part with something like that if I had one. Are those scratches on the flat of the tip? Since you said you've never cut with it, those would be from sheathing it, right? Well, assuming those are scratches. That 'illusion' of a nick gave me a double take too, lol. Personally, I think that price would be [more than] fair, but I really don't know. I'd think the sword/green ratio would be pretty high lol. BTW, is there an official site for Sei Bu Mon or whoever makes that? Never heard of it before. Maybe something for me to look into someday. I don't even have the green to 'steal' yours right now. So yeah, I think your pricing's alright. It'd probably take someone more knowledgeable to be sure though.

I'd say pricing them at a 50% loss is more than fair, from looking at the condition of the blades. I'd love to have that jian, but like Liam, my sword budget is in the negative... unfortunately, that seems to be the common story around the forums here, of late.

Dao is a single edged Chinese blade, Jian is a double edged Chinese blade.
