Hi and thanks in advance for advice.
I recently got a couple of swords from Darksword Armory that I use for theatrical stage combat. They are tough, beautiful swords, but it appears that the rigors of blade to blade stage combat have taken their toll.
What has happened is that the fittings have been knocked a bit loose. I can actually giggle one of the cross pieces with my hand. The problem is that when the swords connect now they make a dull thuk noise as opposed to the very nice ring I like to have with stage swords.
Those of you familiar with Darksword's construction will know that the pommel's are peaned down and there's no way for me to simply tighten the fittings. What I'd like to know is if there's a way to get the ring back in the swords.

I'd place the tip of the sword on to a piece of wood, then simply hammer the peen down firmly with a ball peen hammer and tighten it that way.

The lose fittings are dulling the ring, you will have to tighten the Peen, Gently use a hammer and tap the top of the peen, see what happens, it should work....And wellcom to the board....SanMarc.
