Same screenwriter as "Wanted". At least the action scenes should be cool.

I really hope this is an April Fools joke that hasn't been taken down yet. Now if Takeshi Kitano was writing and directing that'd be different.

It's not a joke. I've read in other online sources that Keanu Reeves is supposed to star in a remake of the "47 Ronin" movie. I have fears that it may suck.

Well, in that movie at least there was a passable explination for a white guy hanging out in Japan... who is 'Neo' going to insert himself into the tale of the 47 Ronin I wonder?

I dunno, call me crazy, but I cant really imagine any other actor taking his place in the Matrix flicks. I don't want to judge it until I have at least seen the trailer.

I think there are a zillion actors that could have done as good or better then Mr. Reeves in the Matrix movies... the part did not require a lot of range or depth of emotion, it was a cake-walk acting wise. It was very physicaly chalenging, to be sure... but as a role it was fairly stright forward. In short... you, sir, are crazy.

I dont know man hope not to offend anyone but he has some asian looks to him.But you are right its Hollywood, this thing should be done with all accuracy, historical, geological, and racial purity. But wait it IS Hollywood. As long as its entertaining Ill be happy, and when it comes to Hollywood I dont really look for accuracy that much anyways. You know they could always go with the standard Jackie Chan and Jet Li.OHH OHHH Tony Jaa,yeah thats it!LOL. Sorry Shadow, had to have a little fun with that one.

Its true that when Hollywood needs 'Asian' actors, they don't tend to care which Asians they use... they will use Koreans as Japanese and all sorts of other strange combos. At least they look a LITTLE bit like they belong, even tho it does bug me... inserting random white guy and having me try to believe he is Japanese tho, that's really stretching it. I dunno... I'm leery of this film... hope to be proved wrong.

I do agree with you Shadow,it is alittle insulting.Kind of like the old cowboy movies with blue and green eyed Native Americans.I always had the feeling they were trying to get one over on me,know what I mean?LOL.

Modern action movie?
People dressed as samurai's acting in front of a green screen then cartoons drawn in that will fool most people in the previews into seeing it and making the studio a profit.
The End.

At least "The Last Samurai" is a movie that has an historical precedent for a Westerner fighting in a Shogun army (re: Jules Brunet and The Boshin War, which would have made a *much* more entertaining and historically accurate film), but having Keanu Reeves in "The Forty-Seven Ronin"? To be frank, I think this movie would only work with an all-Japanese cast, period.
If this is going to work, the director had better be a miracle worker.
