This is my first sword purchase, and after much searching I came accross this sword for sale.
Dynasty Forge 1095 Daimyo Katana 28.5 w/ bo-hi Wave theme
Used occassionally for iai. Never been cut with , blade is mint.
Seller is asking $550 OBO.
Pics. look good. Any opinions on if this is a good price?
Thanks for the help!
Chris.

The MSRP from Dynasty forge is $1080, and the cheapest I could find was $970. So if that sword is in mint condition like the seller is saying, I would say it's a good buy.

From what I've noticed, for production swords in like-new condition, 75% of full price is a price to get it sold quickly, and seems to be somewhat standard. This is because of the uncertainty involved with buying used. 65% is a bargain, and at nearly 50%, that sword sounds like a steal.

Hopefully it's a steal in your favor.
The older I get, the more I understand the saying, "If it's to good to be true, it probably is."
Then again, the seller is saying the blade is mint. I'm assuming "iai" is something like "air cutting" so the handle could have some signs of wear on it. Understandably, the seller might think this devalues the blade tremendously, but for some people, it just adds character to the blade.
Let us know how it looks once you have it in hand!

Hopefully it's a steal in your favor. I'm assuming "iai" is something like "air cutting Somthing like that. He means Iaido or Iaijutsu, which is the art of drawing the sword. Hope that helps. ;D

Just realize the type of sword you are getting. It will be fragile, flat, and light. If you are an untrained back yard cutter, the blade may not be the best choice. It is a good blade, just not as robust as other Dynasty lines. The price is right, I considered it myself but prefer a hardier blade.
