:)I have one of the entry level sbg kats and I'd like to polish the kisaki up-when one does this does one stroke towards the blade or the the spine?Or do you use circular motions?I have the required tools,sand paper etcetera but would like a lttle input on this as I have never attempted this before and I thought that someone amongst this crowd of sharpie fanatics would have done this already.Thanks much for the info before hand gang!!D.

I stroke straight up and down. It has to be really fine sandpaper or stone, though.

Thanks very much Sam-I'm using 1000-1500-2000.Should this be wet or dry and should I also go to a finish with a 2500 stone-is there such a creature??D.

By stones I meant Japanese finger stones (hazuya).
On the kissaki, I would just start with 2500. Don't start low and go high. It should be wet with 3-in-1 oil or Windex.
