Methinks you want a review? It does look rather pretty.

Someone here at SBG bought it a couple of weeks ago at the MRL deal of the day and did a mini review. Cant find the tread back, but im sure you can with little effort.

I agree. Cutting with that thing would be swinging a railroad tie. Although, it is attractive.

It's a pity they don't understand distal taper

I belive at least two SBG'ers indicated they bought this thing when it went on sale on MRL's deal of the day. I was tempted, as it IS very pretty... but yeh, at over 5lbs the thing must be a beast so I took a huge pass as well.

Hopefully it's a typo. Sheesh, whatever happened to the Windlass rep on the forum?

I think you are referring to the sword of Cassel. The Sword of Noavara hasn't been available from MR for quite a while. That having been said, I too would like to hear a review on this one. The weight of this beast just makes me drool, though admittedly they do often screw up the distal taper, as in my much lamented Landsknecht Battle Sword, which is floppier than an Arbedo. BTW, I say floppier for two reasons: A. because the Landsknecht Battle Sword is beyond merely whippy, and B. the term whippy gets bandied about far to much, both here and elsewhere, by folks who have no idea just how flexible a (somewhat) historically accurate sword, rather than a Stage Steel, Darksword, or Badger blades crowbar-like-object, should be.

ok, i stand corrected. I guess they DID put the sword of Noavara up for sale. And i missed. Im going to go cry now. I want this sword more than any other sword they have ever offered, other than the now ungettable Italian Hand and a half sword. Seriously, tears are coming. Oh WHY did I miss the deal of the day that day. Oh WHYYYYYYY? ?

Hopefully it's a typo. Sheesh, whatever happened to the Windlass rep on the forum? Well, they don't keep up with the competition. Most of their good swords are not available anymore. Few are left. Classic medieval, Leuterit, German Falchion, Late Spanish, Stiklestad, 15th century longsword, Scimitar and their shortswords are the list from which I would buy something but still there are better choices unless you get them very cheap.

Don't cry. I agree try contacting them and see if they will work something out for you!!!! Okay, I wasn't really crying, but just barely. Anyhow, I did call them, and the sale on this sword extended well past their deal of the day. The rep told me the last one sold on Feb 16th, and they were still at 122 bucks. Not THAT almost made me cry. I usually check the deal of the day every single day, but I guess I missed a few. Thats what I get for logging into Myarmoury and trusting THEM to put the word out if a good DotD comes up. Dang snobs. There was no mention of this deal on their forums. Anyway, I went ahead and emailed KoA to see if they would come down on their price a little bit for this piece; more than the discount they give for being a member here. (just kidding, by the way).

If you have the patience, the 15th century longsword will eventually pop up on the MRL DOTD. The Late Spanish is already on the rotation for DOTD and pops up about every other week or so.
I've gotten from the MRL deal so far- Sword of Novara Italian Falchion Sword of Cassel
I have a fair bit less than $400 in all three, so the DOTD is a whale of a bargain.
The MRL catalog has a free shipping code for purchases made by 3/15 for over $150.00 also- MR1FREESHIP
I believe that once they discontinue the 15th century longsword it will go to the last chance page and get put into the rotation for the DOTD. I have no idea what their criteria is for discontinuing a model.
