Looking for an axe head just like this but everywhere I find it it's like 300$...c'mon, I'm a poor guy! I was used to axe heads being in the 20-50 area especially when they're unpolished.I need this axe like I need this axe... Anyone with any places in the budget?I call for the aid of my seniors of the blade once again. Thanks! s194.photobucket.com/albums/z240/yanniskusogaki/?action=view¤t=grans25.jpg

First off, and I mean no offense here, there's no such thing as a "double bearded" axe. The term broad axe is the best way to describe what your looking for.
Second, to honest, I've not seen an 11 Century broad axe like that one for less than $200. And it was a used Gransfor Bruk. There's just enough demand for them. If you happen to find one, I'd be much obliged to know where you get it. Good luck man.

Oh yeah,I forgot...I got this guy but I can't really tell if he'd make one for an affordable price from his site.Or how much abuse it would take.

That type of broad axe was used as a spear like weapon as well as other chores. Reaching over the sheild and stabbing down, that kind of use. And remember, not all historic axes were meant for war fare. This one, in particular, was a builders axe.

It was? If I had to put my money on something I would have gone for "exclusively battle axe" with this one. Well, if it was a builders axe that means it could really take some despite the thin (for an axe) construction! Now I want it even more...maybe make a point in both ends!?And langetes? And a D guard at the end?Now this would be something to have in a melee.Swing sideways from upper left to lower right > enemy blocks with right hand > hook his blade > pull it down towards his left lower side > stab...without breaking your defence for one second.Right?...I need a hobby...or a girl...or pot!

Yanni, man I've looked every where that I know of to find an axe comparable to the gransfor and haven't found anything...sorry man. Only thing I can think to do is approach a few custom makers and try to get a better price. It's still not going to be in the 40-50 dollar price range. Like I said, sorry, I know what it's like to want an axe and not be able to find it.

Thanks Avery man, your concern about such a small request is touching! No worries, I'll have one of the local Turk blacksmiths try to replicate it...I'm sure they can get it but their steel is not so good and they suck at heat treating stuff and so do I.Anyways thanks again. Also, I wouldn't really want to open a new thread about such a small and possibly sempriniesque question but how would a small light crowbar work for a mace shaft?I have never tried to whack a crowbar full force and see if it bends but concidering the standard use of a crowbar it sounds ideal.

True...true...crack is where the win is! I'm sorry, are you after a real answer to your question? Or would you prefer to alienate members of the board to your constant drug references? I wish you luck in your endeavours but that is about it.

...Looks like humor is not as flexible for everyone...not even a swordmaster.I apologise for me brute ignorant jests melord. It's just that ...to my peasant knowledge nothing is above satire so drug jokes are just too insignificant (drug JOKES not issues) to out such a statement from your lordship. Let's cut the crap though,if anyone is ever to be alienated by this little dose of a joke chances are I don't really care for his answer or even him so it's two birds with one stone ...sorry.

"...nothing is above satire"
It's always best to know the kind of character you're interacting with.

"...nothing is above satire" It's always best to know the kind of character you're interacting with. Yeah, but overlapping that need is the need to be frank and straightforward to your ideas or to what you think is humorous at the very least in the net 'cause the real world is getting less and less tolerant to any kind of gag. Nevertheless I don't think those jokes were bad enough for a heads-up or a "pick you spots dude" kind of reaction.I mean most people wouldn't tell family guy or southpark off in our day and age so why should I have to hear it.It's obviously a joke right?A kid could tell and so can swordmaster bloodwraith...so why the "holier than though" attitude?What?... he living at the end of the rainbow were "spiky" jokes are no longer enjoyable riding a unicorn to meet the fairy princess?Plus it's not like we dragged it on for pages,it was over in just 4-5 posts. Was it the SBG security something badge/avatar urging him to say it?
