This guy took me what seemed like forever to complete. It was a new blade style and it was far bigger than most blades I am used to working with. I even managed to up the scale of the picture itself compared to my others. At the same time, there is a certain amoutn of pride in this sword. I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone for this one, but in my "What is your favorite?" thread, people mentioned Zweihänders at least three times in a matter of only a few posts. This one goes out to ArtistFormerlyKnownAsClaymore. As always, everyone's thoughts are not only appreciated but almost needed...I'd like to make sure I'm designing sword right...not to mention designing them to be functional. Thanks again to everyone for their valuable input! Aaron

Wow! I like your designs quite a bit, but as I am a lover of historical accuracy I wouldn't spend big money on a custom based on a fantasy design although I might like it. BUT, I would order one like this if I could this minute. It's beautiful, elegant, big (I like big swords) and it actually looks historically plausible. +1 karma. Edit: Since blade is quite long, you might want to have a bit more massive pommel, just for the balance, this one looks good but I think it might be a bit too light.

The parry hooks need a little more mass on them, but it's a lovely sword ;D Great job ;D

Lots of flashy bits, this bit stickin' out here and there but still indistinguishable except for minor differences from the others you post.

Maybe I'm misreading this....but are you saying all my designs look the same, Sam?

I'll echo other thoughts here and say that the parry hooks should either be more substantial, or done away with entirely.
Doing away with them would make this blade resemble a Danish longsword which is not a bad thing in my eyes.
That being said, it is a very nice design, it is elegant, not too busy, and with minor refinement would be a hell of a blade.

The more I look at the sword, the more and more I agree with everyone on the hooks. I've had another zweihander design in the works and I'll use lessons learned to improve the designing.

You have half a dozen I would be tempted to get made with a few changes to them.
