Newest design - the viking inspired Rídend (or Horseman). My father emailed me recently and told me someone in our family had discovered something: That the Cochrans, my grandmother's side of the family, lived in Scotland and Ireland before settling in the New World, but had descended from Vikings. With this knowledge, I knew I had to make yet another fantasy Vike. By my reckoning, Rídend is an Oakeshott Type XIII / XIIIa or a Geibig Type 12. Thoughts are always welcome! Thanks all.

Very nice, I particularly like the handle/guard design.
PS its not type XIII, I think you mean a type XII

PS its not type XIII, I think you mean a type XII ****Yea, that doesn't look much like any XIII or XIIIa I've ever seen. Could be a XII if you changed the tip geometry. Right now it looks like a double fullered XVI with a narrowed ricasso. Regardless, it's a great-looking sword!! Nicely done. Hmmm, maybe I should post my designs one at a time. Seems less confusing. What kind of program do you use to draw them? I'm firmly rooted in the ink-and-paper stone age, but I like it there, lol. Change is scary.

Hey Lunaman, I use Photoshop Elements....but I use it because I cannot draw worth crap on paper.
I've seen your designs, my friend - you shouldn't change a thing. Your designs are lovely and your shading is beautiful.
How long you been in Boulder, Luna? I grew up just North of you in Cheyenne.

Thank you for the encouragement Crockett, you are too kind.
I've lived here and there in Colorado all my life, used to live in Fort Collins, then Greeley when I was a kid. I've lived near Boulder the past ten years or so, though I'm currently going to school in Colorado Springs. I've been up to Wyoming a few times, beautiful part of the country. I briefly knew a lovely young lady from Cheyenne, new far more about fireworks and mischief making than I'd even known, though I don't know if it's a common cultural trait for the area ;D. Every time I think about Wyoming I'm reminded of her, though.
Keep the designs coming man, they're beautiful!
