Cold Steel Assegai
This is cold steel's take on a south African spear. The Assegai is a longer pole weapon used for throwing or hurling. Shaka the Zulu King invented a shorter-style assegai which had a larger, broader blade. This was called an Iklwa for the sound it made as it penetrated and was withdrawn from its victim. This short handled version of cold steels spear is more of a representation of the Iklwa.
The blade came razor sharp, and separated from the handle. I had to do so sanding on the handle to get the blade to fit right.
I've had it for a little while so no picks of its packaging.
I really like this spear. its probably one of my more favorite weapons. The Only thing I did'nt like about the spear is the Handle, it got slippery when wet. I felt like it was going to slid out of my hands. If it had a texture to the wood or some type of wrap it might be better. Also I think if the handle was oblong it would be easier to know where the blade is without looking at it. during my cutting test I hit the target with the broad side of the blade more than once. An oval shaped handle would help with knowing where the edge of the blade is. If you were in a fight you couldn't keep looking down at your weapon to make sure your holding it right.
All and all I think this is a great spear.
If you are interested you can buy it here at cold steel's website.

I've also seen it at many other sites as well.
