Hey Nial, sure a blade could be shaped around the antlers. But a better plan would be to notch out the inside of the existing antlers to accept a wider blade. That would give it a cleaner fit.

How would i go about executing that Jeff? Sorry for my lack of knowledge and stupidity here. Also would it compramise the strength of the Bronze at all to do this? Also do you feel that your new bronzes are at all weaker (the skull) for you thining out the backs? I like it that mine is heavy i can feel the power behind it when swung and i nkow from what Brenno told me it cuts through anything like it's not even there. The Alantean you sold looked a beast in that department too. ;D

Thanks Nial, I'm pretty pleased with the scabbard The waxes I made for my version have a slot in the antlers to accommodate the wider flare at the base of the blade. I like your new grip wrap. Thanks crazyforweapons, I just made another back strap for the Dragonspear, with a couple minor changes. Thanks shadowhowler Thanks very much Meschler I've cut with both the blades you now have (there are videos somewhere), I think you'll be pleased when you get a chance to cut with them. You are very welcome again!!

Hey Nial, There's nothing stupid about your question I would use a mini die grinder with a 1/8" cylindrical carbide tip to notch out the inner antlers. You could probably use a dremel too though it might take a bit longer. You'd also want to have someone who is with the tool doing the work if you've never done anything like that before. Only the very back portion of the skull is needed at all for the structural integrity of the guard, the whole front portion is just for looks. It's not paper thin or anything, still pretty beefy On a side note, did anyone see the moat sale that went on at Albion? I'm pretty sure I saw a rusty Fathers sword blade that sold for $30

Hi Jeffrey, you mean the 9218 blade, right? I am not sure if thats the blade for the father sword. I have a pic of some tangs from albion swords (which include the father and conan blade) and that looks different. Here is the picture: Its the second from left. I have eyed this blade for some time and have asked me the same question. But i think thats a different blade (unless its before the final shape was grinded out). Just my two cents, Meschler

Yeah...i am a lucky son of a semprini and was able to bought both swords from Jeffrey last December. They are truley a work of art and are my most valuable swords at the moment (and i asume that statement is true for a long time; until i commision the Dragonspear in a view month).
Best wishes, Meschler

Hey Meschler, I was thinking the one marked 9227, if I recall correctly. It looked like it already had some engraving in the fuller. Maybe? Maybe not. Hey Sparky, you gonna let a little folded piece of leather tell you how to run your life, pffft! Mine doesn't even speak to me any more, just lies in the corner looking despondent

I think on the whole i'd try to gat a blade fitted around them but either way i deff wouldn't try to do that to the Bronze on my own. I'm pretty good but deff not good enough for that as those bronzes mean the world to me as you know. I had a look through those Albion blade in the moat in the hopes of such a blade but i didn't see one. Did see one similer though. Thanks again Jeff. ;D

Your welcome Nial I checked the Albion site this morning and they had another blade up that was definitely a rusty Fathers sword blade. It looked pretty much finished except for the etching on the blade, it was only $40 Looks like a beastmaster blade with a chip in it is also up. Most of them apparently sell within 10 minutes of being put up. Pretty cool of them to offer all those blade up for sale. Hey shadowhowler, Yeah, Meschler has both of them and they weren't even for sale. Particularly the Atlantean which I made for myself. A friend of mine who was a bit strapped for cash brokered the deal I didn't mind 'cause I figure I can always make myself another when I get the time and I was almost finished my version of the Fathers sword at the time.

I just looked jeff and yes there was one there for sure. It wasn't there a day or so ago when i last checked. Damn i could kill myself. I know one of the guys there to i should have thought to ask him if they had any but i thought they were all made to order so didn't bother. One learns hard by ones mistakes.

Ah well, you just weren't meant to have that one Nial I hope someone puts it to good use. Who knows, maybe it went to another fellow like yourself who always wanted one and he'll spend months meticulously crafting the hilt components for it to have his own dream sword
