I've not been getting on as regular of late buttoday the first day i get on here for a few days and he (BB0 goes and does it. YOU ARE FREAKING KILLING ME MAN! No wait YOU HAVE KILLED ME...wait i'm still breathing...just. ;D
Jeff thata is all thing of beauty and wonderfuness magik and gorgeousness to me as you know this is my fave sword in the world.
You have done gods work here today it is perfect. One of these days i may look to getting another such blade for mine. Is it Peened? I wish i could have got mine done like this as every now and again mine needs a tighten. In the words of Tina Turner "You're simply the best." ;D

Thanks stonehart Thanks Nial ;D Yes, the pommel is peened on this one. I had been working on this sword a bit at a time for quite a while now, and was only recently able to find the time to get it all together. I made a back-strap this week to carry it around with, thought I'd show that as well. This is just to have a convenient way to walk around with it at the renfair that's coming up, without bumping it in to things. And a couple pics of it on.

I may be way off base, but I see a market for that back hanger. I myself would buy one.
Very well done and complements the blade nicely.

Thanks chuckinohio and thanks crazyforweapons ;D The thing about a market for back-hangers is, I don't know that anyone would actually pay enough to make it worth the time and materials to make them

Sorry jeff i was so swollowed up in my own self pity and hateful envy of you( i'm kidding man...well sorta ;D) that i forgot to congratulate you on the great scabbard and now with it's very handy backstrap, way cool and practical to boot. One thing i meant to ask Jeff, when you thinned out the Bronze skull did you also do some cut out work on the antlers on the inside where the blade fits to allow for the wider blade?

But you are very talented at making them so don't stop whatever you do.

How do you like youe Meschler? I have the one Brenno made and i love mine. Hi Nial, its an awesom sword. I love it too. The blade is also from Brendan and is the same as yours. Jeffrey made a different hilt (Wood with leather wrap) and etched/engraved the blade. I think they are pretty identical These two guyes are great businessmen and true artists. Best wishes, Meschler

Mine looks a little different from my avatar pic as i had Breoon make me a square grip blank for me that i shaped to my liking and then wrapped in leather. Here is a pic of whet mine looks like now. I feel like we are brothers in arms. Best wishes.

I really like how your grip came up Nial.
There are some differences between your blades fellas: The one I made for Jeffrey keep the hexagonal section til right up to the tip taper. Whereas Nial's sword transitions to a diamond cross section about 2/3 down the blade. I also included more profile taper on Nial so it's slimmer toward the tip. I chose those two factors to improve handling, and shave weight from the sword, and to give it a more traditinoal flattened diamond cross section at the cutting area of the blade. I was going for a little more performance than film accuracy - it was never going to be a dead ringer for the movie sword blade anyway...
I have another set of father's sword parts right here which I've paid for when I sold Nial his sword. I just don't know what to do with them. I love these parts and have done for decades, they have special significance to me. I could make a fullered one like BB did with this new one, but I'm not sold. I could do a fantasy variation, or I was even considering putting a big XIIa great sword blade like Strider's sword, or a Glamdring leaf blade - I'd love to see it done on all these different baldes. I just don't know what to do with them yet, so they sit here, probably until I get an order for a father's sword...
Have you guys been cutting much with yours? I know that sword of yours Nial just cuts with hardly anything put into it - it's just got that inertia. It just passes through anything with ease.

Unfortunately i hadnt the chance to do any cutting since i get it in late December. Weather is still cold and snowy. Okay, the last two days it gets almost spring but i didnt have a yard for cutting. I do cutting near a forest which isnt far away, but to go there weather must still improve Anyway.....i am looking forward to see the new father inspired sword, Brendan ;D I love your work and i would like to see a fullered blade. Maybe i should order one more Here comes a picture from my two babys together: Truely a work of art. Best wishes, Meschler

very cool Meschler i didn't know you'd bought Jeffs Destroyer Atlantean too. You are a lucky man indeed.
No Brenno I've not had much chance to cut with mine yet as our weather is so crap here with all the rain. The spring is on the way however(if the snow ever gives us a break) and shall try her out then.
I big blade will do you for the new father's swrd. Not nesss the same as the movie or Jeffs i just like that coz i love the movie but i don't think they'd sit well with a LOTR's type blade it to fine looking. Unless it's like Boromirs.

Thanks Nial, I'm pretty pleased with the scabbard The waxes I made for my version have a slot in the antlers to accommodate the wider flare at the base of the blade. I like your new grip wrap. Thanks crazyforweapons, I just made another back strap for the Dragonspear, with a couple minor changes. Thanks shadowhowler Thanks very much Meschler I've cut with both the blades you now have (there are videos somewhere), I think you'll be pleased when you get a chance to cut with them.

Thanks BB1 So you didn't use one of the Bronzes like ours then you actually made new ones? That's dedication i love it. I hope to get another blade for mine some day so hope a blade can be shaped to fit around the antlers?
