I just bought this baby from Nomadic Archery, it is the Bio composite Assyrian bow from Grozer (Hungary). This bow is the jewel of my collection. It is made of horn and sinew!!!! It is based on the Assyrian/Egyptian angular composite bow. It has a 58# pull at 28". It is a very smooth and powerful bow. Here it is unstrung Strung The horn plate(belly) The sinew (back) Finally, here are some bamboo arrows I made specifically for this bow. The nocks are made with water buffalo horn. The nocks, feathers and points are reinforced with sinew wrap. This is a fantastic bow!!! I highly recommend Grozer products to anyone.

Beautiful!! How far does it shoot and how does it feel when shot? Since you now got a historically accurate bow AND historically accurate arrows, what about some tests against softer targets (not metal plates/mail)

Beautiful indeed !!!! Great job and skill shown in the arrows you made too ! Congrats. Note....I wish that folks would post links more often as I for one would like to look further. And a link would make it much easier for compooter idiots like me. But, that's OK, I'll search Grozer, or maybe Nomadic Archery?, myself. I know, semprini semprini semprini !

Thanks JP !!!! I found Nomadic Arts Archery. Nice stuff ! I'll look at the other one now. Again, Thanks. EDIT....I just checked-out Grozer Archery. A very interesting website. LOTS of info for archery aficionados. If Nomadic Arts Archery doesn't have one of Grozer's bows, etc. in stock, Nomadic will order it from Grozer? Or is it best to order directly from Grozer?

You may get a better deal if you order from Nomadic. Mine was 350 Euro($512.00 Canadian) plus shipping and the wait time was 6 months.
Through Nomadic, I paid $560 Canadian for the bow, the bag, an extra string, the shipping, customs...and I waited only 3 months.
Zack will also honor the Grozer lifetime warranty. He is a great guy.

Man, that a nice bow, and the price isn't bad (all things considered). They have some really interesting looking bows on their website.

Those scythian bows are sexy, one day...one day. Do love your bow though mate, there aren't many people who make em like that anymore.

Those bows are made out of 100 percent awesome meat, basted in sauce of win, and wrapped in bacon from a wild boar that was harvested with a spear.

Update: I finally tried my bow last night after spending the last 4 days breaking it in. WOW I own 6 other bows including a compound, an Olympic take down, a war bow, 2 longbows and a Crimean Tatar composite bow. None of these shoot like the Assyrian. It is by far the fastest and more powerful bow I own, All of my bows are in the 50 to 60lbs range so the comparison can be made. I also used the same arrows for all the bows. Modern technology (fiberglass) cannot compare to horn and sinew. I am thinking of getting a chronograph to measure the velocity of the Assyrian and compare it to the velocity of the other bows. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and I whole heartily recommend it to anyone.
