Hey now, that does look pretty darn close. And pretty expensive, though I suppose any good reproduction of this blade would be. Thanks for the quick reply. I just love the way this sword looks, uneven dye, patina and all. It was just so unexpected for me!

I believe that "hunting" swords, along with smallswords, were pretty common to gentlemen officers at this time in history. Probably didn't really expect to use them in battle though. More as a badge of rank. I believe that GW had at least a company of Infantry and a troop of Cavalry as part of his personal bodyguard.

Yeah, I've seen this one before, I'd love to get a replica of it someday, but it would cost a ton to get it done right. It would certianly be worth it though.

I had no idea George Washington carried such a unique sword. That is very cool. I like the color choice.

Holy crap, George Washington got a hell lot cooler than he already was. I always forget that swords were still used back then.
LOL, whenever I think of George Washington, I'm reminded of this (has some cursing, so if your virgin ears are easily offended, don't click it lol):
Seriously though, that is a pretty cool sword. Clearly ol' Georgie had good taste. I'd love to see a Christian Fletcher take on the sword. Wouldn't that be sweet?
