If you hold it to light and move it, it'll change from blue to green to yellow to orange and back to blue again!

They're kind of difficult to reproduce so that's one way to be sure it's a genuine Windlass. Whether there's a lot of fake Windlass Steelcrafts swords out there I don't know, but that's usually the idea any time you see a holographic sticker. Plus the cool factor.

If you buy a sword from Windlass, you are liable to get the holographic sticker, the Unicorn emblem, or the plain old Made in India stamp. It all depends on what model you get and how long it's been sitting in the warehouse.
The unicorn is cool, I wish they would etch it into the surface to give sort of a maker's mark, like other higher dollar makers. They can't seem to make up their minds on anything - other than the fact that they consistantly discontinue their best swords.
I break out the acetone and steel wool and scrub it all off along with the polymer varnish they coat all their stuff with.

Odin, they don't discontinue many swords at all; much like Albion, they only plan to produce X amount before the line is retired. When they get down to the last few, that's when they start doing deals and specials.

(It's just that the good ones go first) Sorry, been watching too many Lindy Beige rants this morning....be assured that this whole post was composed in a stuffy british accent. ;D

Anyway, I've long suspected that Windlas was only making X of each type, since that really seems to explain why the best stuff of theirs is gone so very quickly.
