So, after watching the MEMAG videos on the messer tonight, I find myself wanting to acquire both a sharp and a blunt for training. The blunt is no huge problem, I've found several sites selling wasters.
The sharp however, is proving problematic. Are there any production models, not counting the Cold Steel Grosse Messer, within or relatively close to our price range? Alternatively, has anyone had any luck modifying any of the falchions to a messer?
Thanks for the help.

In our price range, maybe this one could fit the bill: www.miecze.pl/index.php5?page=Product&grupapr_id=114&lang=enApart from the knuckle-bow, close to a typical messer enough, no?If not, all the messers I can think of right now are outside our price range and, more often than not, by a longshot... If you find something, let us know!

I suggest the "Cutlass". "Falchion" is too heavy.

The "cutlass" also has the benifit of actually being a messer.

Ah, now that is almost exactly what I am after. Does anyone have hands-on experience with this company's blades? I've read the short thread from a while back on the forums here, but that is some of the only info I can find on them. I suspect not speaking Polish is hindering the search. Thanks for the heads up Reflingar.

For US405.01, you can get one at www.lutel.cz/You need to click Katalog, then Nože a Tesáky. It's the second one down. I don't know if they speak English well, however, as I've never had to talk to them. Ordering might be a bugbear. M.

Good idea Mister Eversberg ! Try here, its way easier to navigate. www.lutel.eu/?p=productsList&iCategory=19&sName=Sabre,-Scramasax,-Knives And they seem to have at least basic understanding of english since their site offers an english version or at least their bound to try They look amazingly good for the price, and have heard good things about Lutel, it seems that their only problem is the waiting time which can be quite long.
