Have had a great day so far, mowed the yard this morning (1/2 acre) and then cleaned the patio before having some friends come over for a big BBQ. BBQ'd Cabana with Lemon Juice, followed by grilled steak, sausages, chicken skewers and some salads. Then a desert of Pavlova, ice cream and lamingtons. Now just relaxing in the lounge with the family with the A/C on, it is 30˚C outside at the moment.
Haven't been able to partake in the drinking though, am on-call. No call outs today so far, had two last night that kept me going until 1am.
Hope everyone has a great day.

I worked, good penalty rates. like working 3 days for only 8 hours. Raven. PS I am not really nationalistic. I feel like a world citizen rather than a nationalist. I think forums do this to you. I think it is good. Raven

Brett - the Matilda Bay Fat Yak? That is a delicious drop - very hoppy. I'm so glad it's over so I don't have to hear more of those poofy ads about how you have to kill a baby sheep to fill your sanga to be a true Australian. Landon - I worked this morning - on a nice Elvish straight Longsword.

Happy Australia Day everyone! (it still counts for me today - as an Aussie in Texas the 26th has just started). Luckily Texas is warm enough during winter to still drink plenty of beer.
Irony is that Coopers pale is just as cheap here as my home town of Adelaide. Gotta love that...
Cheers, Rob

I hope you guys had a fun and safe holiday! -Midori Kurogami of Sword N Armory. PS-Bren, what you do for work doesn't qualify as 'working' in my opinion. When you're doing something you love for a living, life just doesn't get better than that.

Happy Australia day,BTW I guess I'm the dumb one but what exactly is Australia day? It is the day that the first fleet landed in Sydney Cove (26th January 1788) we're a young colony remember. For those history buffs, the first fleet originally landed at Botany Bay on about the 18th of January 1788, but it was deemed unsuitable for a colony. A more suitable place was found about 12km north and called Sydney Cove, the rest they say is History. Also to the indigenous population it has become known as Invasion Day for obvious reasons, it is also the date of the Rum Rebellion of 1808 (the only ever military coup in Australia) and more recently has also been called Survivor Day due to the fact that indigenous culture and people were not completely wiped out. Realistically for most Australian's it is an excuse to celebrate kinship and mateship, two very important qualities we value highly. We have great gatherings where all friends and family are invited. As to Brenno and BW's comments above, traditionally lamb is seen as the meat of choice (for non-vegetarians) of Australian's, go figure there was no lamb consumed at my house, plenty of beef and chicken products (I am not a vegetarian) as well as plenty of salads. Also traditionally you would drink copious amounts of beer, eat lamingtons (sponge cake dipped in chocolate syrup / sauce and coated with desiccated coconut), watch some Cricket (or play a backyard game) and generally have a great time (we did neither of the last two). Sorry for the history lesson

Lovely drop I must admit, as is Beez Neez another of my favourite beers Must say that you 'sand gropers ' make some fine beer!
