Greetings:
Has any one on this board ever dealt with lqzwdj.com? They seem to have some really nice blades but I am totaly illiterate when it comes to chinese therefore i am unable to coresspond with them myself. Some of their swords look like the same one. made by the zheng-wu forge. Any feedback would be apreciated.

If you can't speak the language don't buy from them, you never know what they are selling you. If you want a chinese sword talk to Garrett at Jin Shi anything they can do, he can do better

Second bloodwraith's recommendation for Garrett at www.jin-shi.com. You could have your sword custom made and Garrett's swords are pretty solid and built for cutting. Even if you are unhappy with its product for some reasons, he has a great customer service. When it comes to Chinese swords, you are in good hands getting one from him.

I have heard ZhengWu mentioned before as a source of swords. Don't remember if it was a good mention or bad. It's been a while...

I'd be hesitant to buy from a seller that I had no way to communicate with but its your call.

This is an interesting thread, considering no-one appears to have checked out the seller's website. Everyone seems to be talking about junk swords, but if you look at the prices you'll find the cheapest one sells for $2,870.56. These babies aren't built for mat-cutting. One or two swipes later, you've lost enough moola to buy a used car.

If I remember correctly, those swords do come from the Zheng Wu Forge. I've spoken to Garrett a while back about them and was told by Garrett to keep in mind that these swords are not all historically accurate, some could be outright fantasy in design. Swords made by the Zheng Wu forge seems to lack the traditional clamshell geometry, however this issue was brought to their attention a while ago but I'm not sure if they've addressed that issue yet. If you're thinking about buying a historically accurate Chinese sword then I would personally recommend Jin-Shi. I have an DH Han style Jian with octagonal cross section from Garrett and this thing is a beautiful beast with the correct traditional geometry. Besides Jin-Shi there is Enlightenment Sword, I've spoken to Sifu Even Chen the proprietor of Enlightenment Sword on various occasions and I can confidently say that all their swords is historically accurate and is solidly built for cutting. www.enlightenmentswords.com/

That's good advice. I contacted Garrett a few days ago, and I'll be buying through him. The man is knowledgable. From what I saw on this above website, they are now making 8-sided blades almost exclusively. A good thing. And yes, they are related to or owned by Chris Zheng Wu, maybe an outlet for his high end. Some of these babies range up to 32 grand.
