Ive met these guys at a local scifi convention. they put on a pretty good show chopping up 2x4s and basically anything else you could bring over. so having handled one I'd say the worst part is the aluminum scales any sweat and its impossible to hold on with a good grip. Nevertheless a fun show with them all in uniform and regailing us with tales of zombie redeath. A+ for effort D- on the swords

I meant the weapons on that site would have bad balance, zombies are actually quite well balanced and much stronger than humans because the biological fail safes are deactivated by the contagion. Who's for a game of zombie tipping? First person to get their zombie tipped over without getting their throat ripped out wins.

You are correct, the modern Resident Evil type zombies are faster than mongooses.
The old school 1968 Romero type zombies are the klutzy slow movers that would be easy to tip.
Rooftop whackazombie with a .300 Mag would prolly be funner and safer.

well it depends what theory your zombies are operating off of raised from the dead by unkown forces would be fast if they were recently deceased but would slow up as they began to decay
resident evil zombies defy all laws of physics in the sense that resident evil monsters are generally able to replicate their cells to enlarge into gigantic freakish monsters at a moments notice without so much as a nod to the concept that reactions like that would require an equal amount of energy put into the monster for that to happen they grow into gian freaks instantaniously and it makes no f***ing sense !
the most realistic zombie scenario in my mind is a 28 days later scenario in which case their speed will depend on the length since they last ate but since those things clearly took far longer to starve to death than normal people they would be a most difficult foe to battle especially because of the whole any blood in you ad your done the most unrealistic part of that movie was the incubation period of the virus because in reality a virus like that would likely have a incubation period of atleast a couple hours likely depending on the amount of virus put in the system a syringe of RAGE to a vein for instance would likely be a matter of minutes but having an open cut that gets some blood in it would likely take almost a day b4 full infection......
wow I do ramble... point being zombies vary be ready for anything
but in all honesy if theres a resident evil scenario with lickers and tyrants and the like we're all pretty well F***ed

I also thought that having such a short incubation period would make it easier to contain the infection. As the infected are immediately recognisable, it wouldn't be that difficult to prevent them from spreading. It would also make it difficult for the infection to spread long distances, it would infect a local population, that population becomes immobile, and the infection burns it self out. If there is a longer incubation period, say a few days, then you get people wondering round who are infected but not showing any symptoms, perhaps travelling between towns and even between countries, and taking the infection with them. And then boom, you get cases breaking out all over the place and by that point its to late to stop it….the end of the world is on us…Zombie apocalypse!!!!!!!!

my two cents: in all seriousness (as serious as a discussion about zombies can be, anyway)... the tougher the weapon, the better. For a sword, I'd go with the Cheness 9260 O-Katana. But if this thing goes down before I can get one... this, this, and this will have to do. seriousness aside... Steel Cricket Bat.

Eh they're cool looking but I still like the old school Katana. The first one on the page is my favorite though.

I recently decided upon the design of a sweet zombie killing sword that I think I will have custom made basically go with the katana saber idea I had talked about awhile ago give it a rib cage for a basket hilt with spikes facing out for skull punching and a sexy skull pommell to bring the weight back and make the katana an effective one handed weapon I think its got a good combination of power lightness and effectiveness
It would also be optimal to have a zombie weapon with a very convinient harness system that would not get in the way and would allow for easy and very quick drawing speed and of course itd have to be light

He's innovative and reasonably priced. Ask him if he can do it; I'm sure you could work something out. And for not a half bad price or craft time too, I'd bet.

In canada obtaining a gun is not as easy not to say its that impossible its just not half as easy and you cant get handguns which is unfortunate because a nice barreta would be very handy for zombies

I have thought about what would work best for "anti-zombie close quarter melee weapon" for so long it makes my head hurt. But I have finally come to the conclusion that I likely couldn't do any better than this for a zombie edged weapon for backup/melee use. "When the ammo runs out..." Still need a good scabbard though... Angus Trim Courtrai Falchion

That's quite a cutter !! Any difference in handling between the falchion in the vid and the still photo?

That's quite a cutter !! Any difference in handling between the falchion in the vid and the still photo? Yeah, I took the heavy plum-shaped pommel off and replaced it with a medium-weight Type I wheel pommel, and it improved the handling a lot. It now handles about like the standard soon-to-be-released Valiant Armoury Falchion will handle. I'm gettin' one o' those! It promises to be a winner.

You forgot about your tac willowleaf!! I think tac swords are the best choice for a modern fighting sword. Light, as tough as a sword can be and when properly made they handle very well, even though they don't have a real pommel/guard. Now a tac falchion... I still prefer a sword that thrusts well so I'd rather not get a falchion but the idea is good.
