Has anyone seen this one? Sounds like a great sword for $140! That guy has some skills too...

That blade geometry is wide and thin...which makes it go through mats like a hot knife through butter. But it´s also wide and thin so it´s also quite easy to mess up the blade if you don´t know what you are doing. A lot of gumdo practitioners like this blade geometry.

I've been really impressed by the SwordNArmory katanas, they look like good solid swords. I've been considering buying one of them.
Also his skills look great for someone who is self taught.

I cut with this sword when I was visiting the Sword and Armory folks early last month and I can tell you that cutting tatami with that thing felt like I was cheating. it is light and fast and just sails through the mats like nothing. in short, it was a very fun sword to cut with.

Hello! I actually just posted some short info on the Yuki here: /index.cgi?action=display&board=europeansword&thread=14122&page=1 It is a very wide and thin blade, as it was designed after the swords in traditional Gumdo dojangs. The spring temper makes it slightly more forgiving than it first appears, but you must take into consideration the geometry when cutting with a sword like this. Bad edge alignment could bend it, as with any sword. I'm going to try it out today; I'll give you guys a full report after I do. -Midori Kurogami of Sword N Armory.

So, here is a brief review of how the Yuki cuts: It's absolutely amazing. Targets I've had problems with when using other swords offer no resistance with the Yuki. As Tom K so aptly put it, it's like cheating. The yuki is essentially a three-foot-long razor blade, and it performs as such. it's light and fast with a very wicked edge. The spring temper also makes it more forgiving than if it was DH or TH; It passed through seven sets of hands on Friday night and came out unscathed, unbent and otherwise undamaged. It is truly a performance sword. There will be three coming to live at my house; Two for my roommates (who cut with it Friday and also fell in love with it) and one for me (and I'm going to customize it!). It has the Midori stamp of approval for sure. ;D

I just picked up a Yuki of my own today. I freakin' love this thing! We've been cutting with it at Cutting Squad meets and last week was the final straw, I had to have one! The Yuki has quickly become one of my favorites out of the arsenal that SwordNArmory has allowed us to test at meets! It's so damn light but tough... I'm definitely going to be doing some FMA style 1-handed cuts this week! I was originally shooting for an XL, but the Yuki actually puts it down quite similar and at half the cost!

If I can remember to grab some of my own video while I'm cutting this Friday, I'll see about posting it. I'm not promising anything spectacular... this is more of an experiment than anything!

I fell in love with the Hanwei Tori Elite that Tom George brought to the UBC Moyoushi last July with it's wide, thin blade and lightning response. It has been my dream sword ever since. After talking with Luka ( the guy in the video ) he assured me that although the fittings of this sword are what you'd expect in the price range, the blade would stand up to comparison with the Tori, which by the way , is way out of my price range. This is a serious mat cutter at an economy price.

Well, well, a countryman of mine and of the same name too. And lives in a town where I study. I see opportunities.

Sorry it took so long to get up... Work has been absolutely crazy. The latest Cutting Squad video on youtube has the footage I promised you guys on the FMA cutting. It's not great at all but it didn't turn as horrible as I thought it would!

wow! whoever was able to sculpt all that butter into what appeared to be a tatami mat did a great job!! seriously though, talk about effortless cutting ability, good bye to my gillette mach 3 I'll save a good 15 min in my morning shaving routine. love to see my fav. fma style mixed w/a kat, truly progressive. what happened to the ito there at the end?
edit after reading specs: why oh why do they still think a fake hamon is a good thing??? ahhh, one day.........
