Could also mean that they've not renewed their Domain Name in the confusion of the Christmas break and the domain name has defaulted back to the last group that had it delegated.
I'd say it is something simple and the next week will probably sort it all out.

Nope, their domain name is registered until 7/10/2012, I don't think it's that.
Whois is your friend.

I am very glad they didn't go away forever...but I wish they would come back soon. I like to just look at the sites and plan my next purchase.
For a few days I thought it might be zombie ninja clowns and some kind of evil conspiracy with the secret alien government that controls internet sales.
I am seriously glad they will return though.

Gee Whiz, fellas. There are other dealers. Indeed... I know that a lot of people around here hold up Kult of Athena as THE place to buy swords... and I get it, they are huge, have a great rep, good prices, and so on. However, they are not my first or even second choice. I had a couple dealings with them that did not go as well as apparently everyone else's have... so I shop other places now. Arms of Valor, Wiwinti Sword Supply, Sword Nation, SBG Store... just to name a few (and my prefered.) Deep breath... everything will be alright guys.

Gee Whiz, fellas. There are other dealers. True fact, Rick. However... I've been sweating them out because I was standing by to order the Hanwei hand and a half (Albrecht sword) with antiqued pommel and guard and brown leather. That variant may be available elsewhere - but I haven't seen it. Does anyone happen to know? You know... just in case?

If you get the normal one, I'm shure there are plenty of guys on here who can tell ya how to get the look ya want...SanMarc.

I have not seen that one for anywhere close to the price KOA had it. I can see waiting on them in a case like that. They do have a better price on a lot of models than elsewhere. Plus that Wyle E. Coyote type shipping. Hmmm, I wonder if you knew which model you wanted and had their email, you couldn't make an order that way? sales@kultofathena.com

I have had good experiences with KoA. Shipping was quick, service was painless. But the main reason I'm waiting for them is the information they provide. I've found the information on KoA to often be accurate and more concise on some models, and their selection is enormous. It's like the Walmart of swords - I can go to that site and get an idea of what I want, then look for it at a vendor I want to support, like AoV or Wiwingti.

They also tend to have good, detailed pictures and specs for nearly all of the swords they carry. For those of us wihtout any money to spend at the moment, they're a pretty darn good place for window shopping.

Typically, I reserve my business for local WMA schools or personal friends of mine, but if anyone wants anything from Hanwei, Valiant, or Cold Steel: I'll honor KoAs price for you this once as a favor.
Just write me with the item and the KoA price. I can see if my distributor has it in stock and I'll get a detailed quote back to you with shipping.

this thread is turning into a real "how to do it right" guide for anybody wanting to build a sword selling website.
