Hi guys, new guy here. I was wondering if you could give me some input. I've been eying up the Depeeka 19th century Bavarian infantry sword, as I love 19th century sabres and I've really been wanting a replica from the German states but there aren't many out there. However, Depeeka seems to have a mediocre reputation, and this *is* a sub $100 blade. Do you think its worth the investment? I do not buy wallhangers anymore, period, so I'm hoping this isn't one.
(I was going to post the Kult of Athena listing, but the site seems down. I'll post as soon as its back up)

Deepeka's are steel wall hangers, if you find a blade that has the same profile, you can have it made into the germanick hanger you want...Sanmarc.
IE, Windlass blade, or other maker who makes good blades.

Second this opinion. Deepeeka has succeeded with several niche markets such as their Greco-Roman armor, but their swords are reenactor decorators. When it comes to lower end swords Windlass can at least be trusted to have a proximate weapons grade sword. If you want a real Bavarian or small german state production sword they can often be had fairly reasonably. Check out Michael D Long for examples.

I'd go with Dave's advice. Some of the small state German swords are suprisingly affordable on MDL.
