I'm usually more of a fan of medieval European swords, but the antique store around the corner from my house has one of these for sale for $400. I haven't taken a close look at it to see if it's in good condition or even if it's actually an original, but it clearly isn't the Windlass version. I was just curious if $400 is a good price for one of these. If it I might save up for it, but it would take me a while to do so.

I would say that this is a fair and reasonable price for a genuine one ! Of course depending on the state it is in. I'm no expert by far, but I think you might expect prices of 500 - 6OO $ (and more) for a Patton in "impeccable" state ... but again ... I'm no expert !

There's a really good write up by a highly qualified collector here. Doesn't talk current market though. There seemed to be a lot of things available a year ago as people gave up half wanted items for cash. Since then, it's slowed down. There are only a few Pattons offered up on the internet at the moment. $400 is a very good offer for a good conditioned sword and scabbard. $650 is probably closer to the market price currently, and even that will probably get you a blade that is somewhat patinated and a scabbard with some wear and even rust. If you're not interested you could share the phone num to the dealer...

Thanks for the responses, I'll take a closer look at it next time I stop by, and if it's in good condition I might start saving up my pennies.
