Can I get an opinion on what, if any, is the best replica Sword of Omens from Thundercats? I'm not necessarily looking for something that I could actually use in battle, just one that looks authentic and actually seems like a piece of metal. I've seen some pictures floating around the Internet, and while most claim to be metal from top to bottom, the close-ups make the hilt look like it's a piece of plastic.
Again, I'm not necessarily looking for something functional, but one that could at least pass for such. Can anyone recommend anything that doesn't look like a toy?
Thanks.

I haven't seen any talk of it around here. I have seen some wallhanger versions but couldn't tell you if any are any good. The ones I saw had lights in the gem and stuff - alot like a toy. Yup. And no they won't be able to be swung around. Just be sure to leave it on the wall Sorry.

You could commission Brenno to make you one...I think he could do it. Keep in mind tho, it'll be a work of art if he does one...

I saw one that was supposed to be functional from a smith in South America... but I can't recall the details...

I think my cousin Ronny made one out of old wallhanger parts and a modified blade. I'll see if I can get some details.

In terms of Oakeshott typology, what would the Sword of Omens qualify as? I ask because I'm new to the Oakeshott method of blade types and don't really know. I was considering taking a Darksword Armory bare blade and working with a blacksmith to make a pseudo Sword of Omens but it doesn't appear that DSA offers a bare blade suitable for my purpose.

It does not really fit with any historical medieval sword, If you had to try and squeeze the blade shape in to the Oakeshott typology, its like a Type X but with out a fuller www.myarmoury.com/feature_spotx.html or a misshapen type XVIII www.myarmoury.com/feature_spotxviii.html, without the acute tip. What may be closer to the cartoon sword is a roman Spatha
