Hey guys, now to me this seems like a dumb question (but I seem to remember reading about this being done somewhere). However, since stainless steel is well "stainless", what would happen if one applied gun blueing paste to it? Absolutely nothing at all or is there any way to darken stainless steel without applying a paint like coating, or heat treating or some crazy acid formula? I'd welcome some first hand knowledge and experience on the subject either yes or no, or at least a source stating either way. Thanks

Ya I don't think regular gun blueing would work. You probably could have an anodized ink coating applied. Similar to powder coating except using ink. I've seen colored blades so there must be a way to do it.
