I have started to dislike Windlass for a while now, idk why, but it is wierd because my dislike for them is proportional to to love I have from my CMS, but I think the fact that I have to clean up dirty "dandruff" off of the blade every now and then is annoying...

Whats a CMS? I know about the white powdery 'dander' from windlass scabbards, annoying.

We were thinking of dropping by MRL tomorrow right at 9am, but are debating it. We would go to see if there were any good project blades, leather, costume items for sale that we could use during the upcoming year. It's not really that pressing, but I did not want to miss out on anything good. As I said, we are debating it.
I've never been to a Black Friday sale there, but for some reason, I just don't think it would be nearly as nice as their Spring Clearance event. They don't have alot advertised for sale on the website, so unless there is some big secret - I'd probably just be better off waiting til April.
We are still discussing it, so I'll let you guys know if we go how it turned out.

My woman got up early today and went into the Black Friday tempest. She brought me home a 16 GB memory card for my camera. Now I can make a movie 240 minutes long. MUUUUHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to come up with a good sale for AoV and IW.
Any ideas. I hate just running the same 10% off etc. type sales like everyone else. Anyone have ideas?
I heard that Monday is the big internet shopping day. I could kick it off then...provided you guys give me something interesting to work with.

LMAO @ Ric - now that's what I'm talkin about!
I'll check their site tomorrow but I haven't seen anything they've had to sell weapon-wise that's really caught my eye in quite some time. I should say, caught my eye enough to make me buy; there were plenty that I ogled, but none that I ultimately went for.
I'll wait to see what Odingaard comes up with, if anything really.

A medieval battle is what black Friday is to me. I think I'd rather spend more than put myself through that. Though with swords, axes, and armor maybe it wouldn't be so bad! ;D

When DJ was planning her assault, she asked me how early we should get up. I asked her what she meant by "we". Still, I'm glad she got me the card even if I know it was just a distraction from her purchases.

LOL @ that distraction
We have our own though, don't we? I find that my sword purchases are generally passed over if I have somethin nice for her too. Be it shoes, an outfit or in one case, a sword.

If that wouldn't bite into your margins too much.

I was planning to visit the MRL black friday sale this morning at 9... but my wife was less then interested.... and I didn't see much on the site that would make it worth the trip. Like Odingaard said... unless they are hidding a big secret I don't think it was worth it... and if there WAS anything worth getting, someone got it today and its gone now.

What about their german mace? It's maybe the only item on sale that caught my attention, it looks nice at quite a low price...is the hollow handle so fragile as to disqualify it altogether?

I heard that Monday is the big internet shopping day. I could kick it off then...provided you guys give me something interesting to work with. Hmm... I'm thinkin', I'm thinkin'... How about a 10% discount off of the first (most expensive) item, and then an extra 5% off of each additional increasingly cheaper items, with up to a 25% discount max? So if some onw were to buy: Sword A (usually $349) Sword B(usually $220) Dagger A (usually $70) Cloak A (Usually $39) and Frog A (usually $20) They'd get these discounts: Sword A (usually $349) (10% off) Sword B(usually $220) (15% off) Dagger A (usually $70) (20% off) Cloak A (Usually $39) (25% off) and Frog A (usually $20) (25% off) I'm not sure how this would work, considering that some items have more profit margin than others, but I think it's a good start. ;D Just my $0.02, of course. HTH, Slayer
